The pride and joy of the California Jewish community has just published two brilliant and controversial articles in Pajamas Media and American Thinker that will certainly anger many, especially those in the Jewish community who believe the Messiah has come and his name is Barack Obama.

The difference between radical Muslims and liberal American Jews is that the former seek to become martyrs, while the latter aspire to become victims. In an ironic twist of fate, radical Muslims and liberal American Jews were made for each other.

This ideological symbiosis is sufficient to give pause to the presence of intelligent design. But like all things that seem to emanate from a higher power, there is a paradoxical twist. It is not themselves that liberal American Jews want to sacrifice on the altar of victimhood; it is their Israeli brethren.

Rachel Corrie Meets Horst Wessel at SF's Jewish Film Festival

Rachel Corrie was the naïve Marxist and International Solidarity Movement member who went into Gaza to put her body on the line to keep open tunnels that supplied suicide bombers with the means to kill Israeli civilians. Standing for hours in front of an Israeli military bulldozer that was demolishing these tunnels and the structures that led to them, Corrie fell into a dirt pile, unseen by the bulldozer driver, and was buried alive as he drove over it.

With some deceptive sequencing and distortion of photos, the ISM made it appear that the driver purposely drove over Corrie and crushed her. The Evergreen State University student subsequently took on the iconic status of a martyr. Her life, committed to facilitating the work of those who would take innocent lives, has become the source of poetry readings, an international play, and now, a documentary.

Independence Day in the dark

There is something in the air this Fourth of July weekend, but it isn’t barbeque, fireworks or freedom – its secrecy.

As we celebrate the birth of our country and pay our respects to the Founding Fathers and Revolutionary War heroes who made sacrifices very few Americans can comprehend, we must never forget why, over two hundred and forty years ago, it was the words “no taxation without representation” that echoed from chambers and churches in Boston.

Back then the colonists were demanding what today “we the people,” take for granted – a voice.

Men such as Benjamin Franklin and Samuel Adams risked their lives so that Americans – could have that voice. And having means much more than the right to free speech; it means the right to be involved in the political process and review legislation, as well as voice an opinion before a vote is called.

Stop ramming it through before the people can review.

Americans must channel the wisdom of our Founding Fathers and demand “no taxation without information.” The same politicians who claimed the Bush administration was not upfront and honest with the American people regarding the War on Terror have passed a near trillion-dollar spending bill. They managed to do this with complete disregard for transparency as well as outlining the most controversial energy legislation in American history without any allowance for public input or adequate time for elected representatives to read the twelve-hundred- page bill.

Earlier this year hundreds of thousands of Americans embraced the spirit of Samuel Adams by attending one of the over eight hundred tea party rallies held throughout America, voicing their outrage at Washington’s unprecedented intervention and blatant disdain for openness and accountability.

There is no doubt that the same desire for freedom and representation our forefathers fought for during the American Revolution still burns in the hearts and minds of millions. These patriots don’t consider themselves Democrats or Republicans, but Americans, who believe that open and honest government that welcomes people into the political process, not shuns them out, is what makes America “that shining city upon a hill.”

Unfortunately, the current administration is determined to turn out the “beacon light [that] guides freedom-loving people everywhere.” On this Fourth of July weekend, let’s remember why it’s crucial to leave the light on – at any cost.

Leftist icons demonstrate true colors
Hollywood and Unions equal hypocrisy

If you were in Chicago this morning, you may have noticed camera crews surrounded by technical experts near the main train station (union station). With a large sign telling passersby’s that a movie was being filmed, I couldn’t help notice some disturbing irony.

The cameraman was undoubtedly filming background footage and the technical crew which had to number nearly a dozen did what union employees do in Chicago—nothing. Mind you this is nothing new in the city that doesn’t work. One of the reasons the film industry usually goes to Toronto to film movies taking place in Chicago is because a non-union employee is not allowed to put an electrical plug into an outlet without union supervision or a union employee doing the actual task. Considering the wages these guys receive, I assure you indicted former governor Rod Blagojevich believes he was in the wrong business. But I digress.

The irony I mentioned before my anti-union rant is that the two most notorious symbols of liberalism in America, Hollywood and Labor, did a fascinating job ignoring and interfering with the homeless people a few feet away from their filming.

Everyday about a half dozen homeless folks work a one block radius near the station due to the enormous foot traffic. This morning the camera-shoot distracted people from giving change and often some fruit or snack bars to these individuals.

While I can’t fault the movie set for doing their job, I found the fact that the director and a few of the workers were eating these enormous breakfast sandwiches literally 3-4 feet away from homeless veterans and elderly woman who are begging for change to be able to buy a bagel and coffee.

All I can think of is a sad reality that I have known my entire adult life. Bleeding heart liberals expect everyone else to bleed and make sacrifices, while they are content forcing their will on everyone else as they go on living a life of hypocrisy.

My apologies to readers of Paulies Point for not unavailing the new Paulies Point. As you know, I never like to do anything in a mediocre fashion. That necessary evil known as time which there never is enough of is the reason I have not published more often this year. If I can't write I sure can't properly launch a new website.

But never fear!

The necessary administration and licensing has been implemented and the new site should be functioning fully before the month is over. OK, you've heard that before. Stop it you sound like my wife when I promise to pick up my socks.

In deference to its extremist, leftist intellectual constituency, the Obama administration is reversing American policy and signing on to the United Nations Human Rights Commission, an organization that spends most of its time and energy demonizing the Jewish state, legitimating dictatorships, and attempting to define criticism of Islam as a violation of human rights. This, of course, is not the first time in modern history that the intellectual left has aligned itself with the forces of authoritarianism in order to embrace anti-Semitism. In pre-war Europe, anti-Semitism was as fashionable among the intelligentsia as it was among the masses that followed totalitarian movements. And nowhere was this relationship so aptly symbolized as it was in the writing of Louis-Ferdinand Celine.

Celine’s Bagatelles pour un Massacre (Trifles for a Massacre, 1937) was considered one of the most anti-Semitic tirades ever written. A chaotic rant against Jews punctuated with boundless invective, Celine’s Bagatelles caricatured Jews in ways that even Goebbels would have envied. Celine, who believed that Hitler was not sufficiently anti-Semitic and whose paranoia saw Jews in every dominant social institution including the hierarchy of the Catholic Church, was ultimately to be outdone in his lunacy.

Hey Al, where's my global warming? After experiencing one of the snowiest winter's in recent memory as well as the coldest February in my lifetime, Spring finally arrives and 6-11 inches of snow is falling on Chicago. So I repeat, where is my global warming?

I know you have spent your entire adult-life being wrong about everything. Oh wait, in 1992 you said Iraq was sponsoring terrorism and seeking weapons of mass destruction. You were right then, I stand corrected. However, before as well as since, you undoubtedly know so little about so much. Today you are the poster-child for the Global Warming movement, yet scientists all over the world have debunked everything you have frightened the world about. In fact today the evidence points to the opposite of your fear-mongering, Global-Cooling is developing on our planet.

So I asked again. As the snow falls outside on this first day of Spring and my sinuses and ears fill up with mucus, where is the overwhelming warmth destroying the planet? Why were my testicles frozen to my leg this morning when I went outside?

Dammit Al, don't shy away you self-absorbed ignoramus. You may be a legend in your own mind and to the far-left lunatics who worship you, but I know the truth, you know the truth. You just want to matter and climate fear is a way for you to matter. Oh, I don't doubt you believe your own B.S. to an extent, but it's obvious as I make my wife shovel our driveway, you are wrong.

A President or a Carly Simon song?
The never-ending Obama Presidential campaign

Last week I was sitting in a downtown Chicago pizza-joynt with two politically astute friends when to my amazement, President Obama and politics became the subject of conversation. After we finished uttering numerous four-letter words and inquired with each other if anyone had received their notice to report to a reeducation camp, I threw out the observation that our President continues to campaign instead of govern.

"You think, duh," was sarcastically stated by one of my lunch companions, while the other diner responded with "this is how he'll win in 2012 regardless of the economic conditions." Both remarks were appropriate and full of merit.

Watching President Obama on late night T.V. with Jay Leno was offensive, with or without the ignorant Special Olympics comment. At a time when my mother and sister are unemployed and the morale of the average American is lower than Keith Olbermann's ratings, I wish my President would stop selling failed ideas and go back to the drawing board.

Last week America learned that the President and his Party were responsible for allowing banks that received bailout funds to payout retention bonuses. The same guys bitching about big pay-outs to bank execs, put the provisions in the so-called stimulus bill, so these guys could get fat off government incompetence. Solid!

If you only watch the network news than you are unaware that our beloved Obamesiah decided to show military veterans how much he appreciates their service to America.

The administration came up with the brilliant idea that the men and women who have served our military should use private insurance to pay for treatment of combat and service-related injuries. Post traumatic stress, amputations, occupational therapy, you name it, Obama wants the same government who put these courageous Americans in harms way to not be responsible for their medical care. At least we know when the President says he holds our veterans in the highest regards, he really means holding up his middle-finger.

Come to think of it, maybe it was a good idea that our President appeared on Leno as well as 60 Minutes yesterday. If America has to learn what he is up to by objective sources, we may realize the rock star campaign atmosphere is over with and the "change" that was promised was for the worse.

In the past I have criticized many Progressive Jews as being self-haters and do not apologize for my remarks. While it is important to understand that a Jew can be Progressive and not a self-hater, the end result of their thinking is still the same.

Hello again, but don't get excited
Fighting for open and honest government is time consuming

As I stated earlier this year, my blogging time would be greatly reduced for a while. But please don't fret, my time is being well spent as I fight for government transparency and accountability.

Unfortunately in Illinois there has been no such luck in bringing open and honest government to the people, as we have come to the realize that impeached governor Rod Blagojevich, may have been the most honest Democrat in the land of Lincoln.

Frightening thought, but as I wrote back on January 5, 2009, Blagojevich was left with no alternative than to appoint a senator because the Democratic controlled House and Senate refused to support a special election.

Two months later, controversy once again surrounds Sen. Roland Burris and Democrats jumped on the special-election bandwagon. But as we witnessed in January, Democrats jumped off the voter rights train, as they realized that the words "Senator Mark Kirk" may be spoken. In true machine politics form, they refused to allow the people of Illinois the right to have a say in their representation.

And to think that Governor Pat Quinn spent four decades fighting for voter rights. As they say, power corrupts and nobody describes that phrase better than our current governor.

There is yet another cost, one less obvious, one equally as threatening to our political system: the loss of civic virtue.

Stimulus bill written by idiots, to be signed by a moron

I'm done. I promised to give President Obama a chance and I believe I did. But when you advocate a stimulus plan that offers the taxpayer $13 a week to help them and their family deal with financial troubles and at the same time subsidize "green" golf carts with 300 million dollars, I can no longer stand by and bite my tongue.

I'm not sure what has angered me more. Is it the fact that in less than a month Obama has become everything I feared or that his fiscal incompetence makes me wish President Bush was back at the helm?

Watching our new President in action has not been the spiritual experience his worshipers promised. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid behave as rival siblings who are trying to buy their daddy's love. They will do anything, hurt anyone and satisfy their fathers backers (unions) at any cost.

Those paying for the sins of the father and his minions are millions of American families.

Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Paulie remembers a friend of the Jewish people

For years the pages of Paulies Point have honored the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. To the surprise of many I have received criticism for my praise, but it has nothing to do with the issue of race. Dr. King believed in Socialism and everyone knows that I'm a staunch free market capitalist. While I do not agree with King about economic systems we both are ardent supporters of liberty as well as respecting our fellow man. An idea black civil-rights leaders forgot after King was struck down by an assassin's bullet.

I'm not going to rehash old discussions about Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton being opportunistic poverty-pimps as well as the disturbing level of anti-Semitism that dominates the current Progressive movement and African American community.

Instead, I'm going to remember a few passages about Dr. King that have found its way on to the pages of Paulies Point.

Today we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. To many this is a day of joy and remembrance and it should be. Dr. King was not just a champion for African Americans, but for mankind. King believed in equality and justice as well as self-responsibility. As a Jew I am proud of the support the Jewish community gave Dr. King during his civil-rights struggles. No religious group or Caucasian community was more supportive than Jewish Americans. Dr. King was also a supporter of Israel and active in trying to maintain strong bonds between Jews and African Americans.- Paulies Point 1/15/07

I see the Obama campaign as a great achievement for African Americans. As a Jew I was proud of Joe Lieberman when he became a Vice Presidential candidate. Great achievements for historically oppressed people, even if neither of them got my vote. Tomorrow Dr. King will look down from the heavens and witness the inauguration of the first Black President of the United States. While I fear what Barack Obama the man will mean for America, I to rejoice in the fact that Dr. King's dreams are coming true. But I am also saddened that many of his own people corrupted his ideas for their own personal fortune and vanity.

I only hope a President Barack Obama understands the damages the Jesse Jackson's and Al Sharpton's of the world have caused. I pray that Mr. Obama will remind Black Americans that Jews are the reason the civil-rights movement was successful and that the hateful preaching's of Rev. Wright and Louis Farrakhan are in direct opposition of Dr. King's teachings.

Obama Team Denies Report

Believe it or not, sometimes your brilliant blogger likes being wrong or at least hopes to be proven incorrect. This is the case regarding my Friday post claiming that President-elect Obama is "legitimizing Hamas" by opening up direct talks with the terrorist organization.

The UK Guardian reported that Obama "transition team sources" claim that the President-elect wants to "initiate low-level or clandestine" communications with Hamas. However the Obama camp has released a statement denying the Guardian story.

"The President-elect has repeatedly stated that he believes that Hamas is a terrorist organization dedicated to Israel's destruction, and that we should not deal with them until they recognize Israel, renounce violence, and abide by past agreements," transition spokeswoman Brooke Anderson said in a written statement.

While I continue to be discouraged that Mr. Obama has not been a vocal supporter of Israel during the recent events in Gaza, not buying his one President at a time argument, I am relieved to learn that I have jumped the gun in my criticism of the President-elect regarding this story.

I can only hope that during this crucial time in our nation and Israel’s history, a President Obama will govern in a manner that proves my fears to be for nothing. It will be nice to be wrong.

I hate to say I told you so, but...
Obama already legitimizing Hamas

When did I first sound the alarm bell? Early March of last year to be exact, with a friendly reminder in May. Barack Obama one way or another will pose a problem for the safety and security of Israel.

On Thursday evening one of the greatest fears Israel supporters and may I add the citizens of the Jewish State have was realized. The next President of the United States is going to legitimize an organization that's only purpose is to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. President-elect Obama is going to establish relations with Hamas.

This news couldn't come at a worse time, or maybe the timing is perfect.

It is important that Israel knows for certain what they will have to contend with in an Obama administration. Without a doubt they are losing support in the UN with the incompetent Susan Rice representing the United States. Add the recent Hamas revelation and Obama's silence over the Gaza war, Israel may have a clearer course of action to take.

Israel more than ever must destroy Hamas and take out Iran's nuclear capability. If the Olmert government fails to do the further, we can start calling Benjamin Netanyahu Prime Minister.

That wouldn't be a bad thing. Not bad at all.

Anti-Israel rallies turn into undeniable hate fest

If there is any group that defines what is wrong with the Progressive movement it is undoubtedly the ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) Coalition. For a group that claims to be against war and bigotry, they are filled with hate. So much hate that some of their members wish the Holocaust would continue today and finish the job Hitler started.

It's amazing how far-left groups such as ANSWER and their friends at the Huffington Post and Daily Koz are silent when Hamas is shooting rockets at civilians in Southern Israel. However when Israel decides to defend their citizens and attack the terrorists, Israel is the aggressor.

A video you won't see on NBC or read about in the New York Times features an ANSWER Coalition rally in Ft. Lauderdale in which an woman dressed in Islamic garb starts yelling at the Pro-Israel group across the street "go back to the oven," an obvious reference to the Nazi concentration camps.

Where is the outrage from the left-wing blogosphere or mainstream media? Only a few media outlets such as Fox News and the Drudge Report understood their professional obligation to report what can only be described as the real reason why groups such as ANSWER and many of their progressives are anti-Israel. They hate Jews.

Illinois Senate Debacle now Dems problem
Blagojevich right, Democrats wrong

Can Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich be right? Is it conceivable that the poster-child for political corruption in America may have been an advocate for empowering people and a crusader against the political machine that defined the term pay-to-play politics? In an obscure manner of speaking, the answer is yes.

As political pundits and politicians from both sides of the aisle condemn his recent decision to name a replacement for President-elect Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat, they all seem to have overlooked a statement that Blagojevich made during this past Tuesdays press conference that goes to the heart of the senate vacancy controversy.

“The law requires that the governor make an appointment of a United States Senator in the absence of any other law that would have given the people of Illinois a chance to elect the successor to the United States Senate,” Blagojevich said. “When the legislature didn’t act on the legislation they said they were considering, which I supported, which would’ve given the people the right to elect the next senator, failing then, it’s the governors responsibility to fill the vacancy.”

Within minutes of his announcement, Democrats in Illinois as well as the leadership in Washington came together to denounce the decision, continuing their firm stance that no individual selected by this governor would ever be seated.

Completely missed by the mainstream media is the hypocrisy that has occurred over the Governor’s appointment. Thy hypocrite isn’t Blagojevich. It’s the Democratic Party.

After the governor was indicted, the Democratic controlled Illinois House and Senate had an obligation to implement a law that would give the people the power to elect the next senator. As Blagojevich pointed out, they failed and it became his responsibility by law to “fill the vacancy.”

As it stands now, Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White (D) has refused to sign the paperwork certifying the governor’s appointment. U.S. Senate majority leader Harry Reid has stated that “anyone appointed by Gov. Blagojevich cannot be an effective representative of the people of Illinois and, as we have said, will not be seated by the Democratic Caucus.” The governor’s nominee, Roland Burris, is going to court to fight the Secretary of State.

…and Illinois still has only one U.S. Senator.

When the Blagojevich scandal first took center stage, every Illinois politician, including the governor, called for a “special election” to fill the senate vacancy.

"The General Assembly should enact a law as quickly as possible calling for a special election to fill the Senate vacancy of Barack Obama,” said Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL). “No appointment by this governor could produce a credible replacement."

Illinois Senate President Emil Jones (D) told Associated Press that he would soon call his chamber into session to “pass a bill to establish a special election to fill the vacancy.”

Even the President-elect chimed-in, issuing a statement calling for the General Assembly to “consider the issue and put in place a process to select a new senator that will have the trust and confidence of the people of Illinois.”

For a brief moment it appeared that Democrats had joined Republicans, in doing the right thing. In the immortal words of Abraham Lincoln, “government of the people, by the people, for the people,” was not dead in the land that bears his name.

Democrats began taking a hard look at what a special election could mean in a climate of corruption. They saw popular Republican congressmen such as Mark Kirk (10th) and Peter Roskam (6th), representatives who have impeccable reputations for honesty, declaring their interest in running in a special election. Both men would be in a strong position to put the vacant senate seat in the GOP column.

The idea of empowering the people to decide their next senator may be the right thing to do, but the half-century old culture of corruption that created Rod Blagojevich, only understands one thing. Power!

The unified Democratic voice that demanded a special election was afraid of losing and was suddenly backtracking.

Blagojevich’s replacement if he resigns or is impeached, Lt. Governor Pat Quinn, a life-long advocate for voter initiatives and public referendums, originally advocated a special election with his Democrat colleagues. However he recently had a change of heart.

"I've had to reflect on that in the last couple of days,” said Quinn. He is asking for the governor to be immediately impeached and has stated that he should decide who should represent Illinois in the senate.

The blatant hypocrisy lies in the fact that Democrats are well aware that Quinn will not be in power to make the decision before a special election could take place. Meanwhile they cry how awful it is that Illinois will only have one U.S. Senator when the next congress convenes.

Democrats know that Blagojevich is not going to resign. The governor has stated that he will fight the charges and any impeachment efforts against him with his “last breathe.” Therefore the only hope Illinois has of sending a second senator to Washington in the near the future is through the election process.

However it’s obvious that Democrats in Illinois would rather have the seat vacant before giving the people the power to elect their next senator, and God forbid, possibly elect a Republican.

When the special session of the Illinois legislature Gov. Blagojevich spoke of recently convened, House Speaker Michael Madigan (D), who was one of the first special election supporters, neglected to call the bill to the floor.

The same change of heart took place in the Illinois Senate as one time special election proponent, Sen. President Emil Jones, forbade a special election resolution to be voted on in his chamber.

The argument Democrats are clinging too is that a special election would be very expensive and that the state simply cannot endure the additional costs. What they conveniently forget to mention that a scheduled election is already in place.

Just because there are no congressional or senate races capturing the public’s attention, doesn’t mean other local offices aren’t up for election. A February 24th primary is already scheduled with the general election taking place on April 7th. Perfect conditions for a special election are already etched in stone, which can still take place, regardless of the governor’s recent appointment.

The Democratic Party in Illinois finds themselves in unfamiliar territory. They find themselves vulnerable and dare I say accountable to the people.

Both major newspapers, the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun Times have called for a special election. A Rasmussen Poll shows that 66% of Illinois voters support the idea, while only 21% disagree.

The sad reality is that an indicted governor, who is currently the laughing stock of America, had to point out that the legislature didn’t do their job, so he had to do it for them.

Only in Illinois can a politician arrested by Federal Agents, charged with attempting to sell a U.S. Senate seat, be the voice of reason and accountability amongst his Democratic colleagues.

Israel defending herself, Hamas killing it's people

Many of my readers have been surprised that I have been quiet during the recent developments in the Middle East. The fact of the matter is that there isn't anything to talk about. It's the same old song and dance.

Arabs hate Jews and only believe that a good Jew is a dead Jew. The Hamas controlled government in Gaza has once again ruthlessly attacked Israel, launching rockets and missiles into the Jewish State. Israel does not respond to these attacks, waits for the world to notice and hopes that worldwide condemnation will miraculously persuade the terrorist regime to stop.

As always, the world ignores the Kassam rockets falling in school yards and near apartment complexes in the southern part of Israel. Somehow the fact that these explosives aren't accurate and usually don't result in fatalities, means that Israel should ignore the attempted murder of her people.

When Israel realizes, again, that the world doesn't give a damn about their security, they take matters into their own hands. And like any government on planet earth would do when their citizens are being attacked by a foreign government or entity, they defend themselves with all means at their disposal.

Once again, most of the world condemns the Jewish State for defending herself with a disproportional response. Israel becomes the aggressor, even though they have no intention of occupying Gaza. The UN condemns them, ignores the previous attacks against Israel by Hamas and proposes damning resolutions against the Jewish State, which never mention halting attacks against Israel.

The truth of the matter is that Israel is doing what most governments want, but are unwilling to publicly admit. They need someone to be on the front lines against Islamic-militants, so why not the Jews. They are a perfect scapegoat, have been for thousands of years.

Europe and Asia ignored 9/11 as well as he London and Madrid bombings. They are deathly afraid of Islamic-fundamentalists who exist in the hundreds of thousands within their borders.

They fear reprisals if they publicly support Israel. But behind parliament doors, they hope Israel finishes Hamas off and can care less how many Palestinians die in the process.

Unfortunately for the people of Gaza, their own government wants to see high civilian casualties. The more dead children they can carry-out to show Christiane Amanpour and her fellow pro-Hamas lackies at CNN, the more money they can get from fearful governments and recruits for future suicide bombings.

As always President Bush understands the situation, knows that there isn't any moral equivalency as most liberals believe and tells the world that Israel has a right to defend her people. Sadly, I hate to say, President-elect Obama has been mute over the situation.

This broken record comment "There is one president at a time and we intend to respect that," is getting old very fast. While I understand it at times, the fact is that his silence just supports the fears many Israelis and her supporters in the United States have had ever since he started his campaign for the Presidency.

Hey Rahm Emanuel, tell your boss to get a set and make a statement.

In the meantime the Palestinians once again have a decision to make. Do you love your children more than you hate Jews?

War is over, if you want it. But as always you rather see your children die than let Jewish children live in peace with yours.

None of this has or will remotely achieve Hamas' avowed goal of destroying Israel.

On December 19, Hamas declared an end to a temporary and frequently breached truce with Israel and launched a major rocket attack on Sderot timed to coincide with the end of the school day. In response, Israel did what any nation state would be expected to do; it bombed Hamas' military targets in Gaza.

In just a two-day span, over 100 rockets and mortar shells were launched from Gaza toward Israel. As Palestinian Christians were preparing to cross into Bethlehem to attend Christmas celebrations, a mortar shell landed in the "passenger crossing." While it appears that nobody was killed in that attack, two Palestinian children weren't so lucky.

Agree or disagree with policy, his character is unquestionable

With less than a month remaining in his Presidency, I want to take a minute during the most wonderful time of the year and remind America why I greatly admire President Bush.

To be fair I must mention that there are numerous aspects of his Presidency that have disappointed me. I have been a tireless critic of his economic policies and the increase in the size of government that has taken place under his leadership. I am terribly disappointed that during his time in office, having GOP control of the legislative branch for six of those years, he never made a meaningful effort to implement real education and tax reform in the form of school choice and a flat or national sales tax system.

These missed opportunities to put in place free market solutions to some of our nations biggest problems, while at the same time behaving like a Democrat when it comes to the role of government in American life, will be the failures historians talk about fifty years from now.

What I also believe historians will talk about, despite what the MSNBC crowd thinks, is that President Bush was a man of extraordinary character who cared deeply about people.

The meaning of Christmas and Hanukkah
Secularists and Atheists need to stop hating and start loving

Earlier this week I republished a post that originally appeared during the Holidays in 2006. Rarely do I ever rehash what I like to refer to as "classic commentary," but as a I sat down to write a posting about Hanukkah, I didn't believe I could say it any better than I did back during the early stages of Paulies Point.

Like many people of faith, I get discouraged this time of the year because the Holidays reveal a disturbing lack of knowledge most Jews and Christians possess about their religions. Don't get me wrong, I am not a Jewish scholar by any means. Which is why when I find myself to be the person in the room with the most knowledge, not just about my own faith, but understanding Christianity as well, I fear the secularists are winning.

The ACLU crowd has managed to turn the word "God" into a four-letter term. Atheists have successfully invaded holiday displays in public places for the sole-purpose of ridiculing believers. Children can no longer sing non-denominational holiday songs in school, winter-carnivals have been canceled.

I have a very simple response to thee hardcore leftists. Stop hating.

The founding-fathers did not intend for this country to be Godless. In fact just the opposite. They were men of deep faith and conviction, but those convictions meant religious freedom.

The government should never endorse one religion. With that in mind, America should celebrate the idea of religious freedom. Government buildings should never just have a Nativity scene or a Menorah, but having either in addition to permitting other displays with religious significance, should be celebrated.

I don't even have a problem with Atheists having a display about Winter Solstice. What I find repulsive is that they are using the opportunity not to celebrate a special day, but criticize the idea of religion. I don't believe any government facility would tolerate a Christian display damning Jews for not accepting Christ or any religious group denouncing Atheists or non-believers on public property. However when it comes to ripping Judeo/Christian values and ideas, it's open season.

What secularists fail to understand is that there is more to the Holiday season than religion. While I have criticized many Jews and Christians for being ignorant about their faith, I do believe most people regardless of religious beliefs utilize this time of year to celebrate the other important meaning, family.

My readers know that even though I am a proud Jew and that my wife converted to Judaism before we were married, her family celebrates Christmas. We gather with them every Christmas Eve to celebrate family and be reminded how blessed we are to have each other. On Christmas Day the family significance continues as my-side of the family will gather to continue celebrating Hanukkah and do what most Jews do on Christmas. Eat Chinese food.

The joke about Jews and Chinese food may be humorous, but the real laughter comes when the family is together to celebrate their love and blessings.

To be honest, I guess I just feel sorry for secularists. To not be able to enjoy the Holidays as I do and in some cases, filled with so much hatred for religion that they view this time of the year so negatively.

I also feel bad for Jews who are offended by well-wishes of "Merry Christmas" as well as Christians who believe you can only say those exact words. While I am not a particular fan of the meaningless void stemming from "Seasons Greetings," it's better than a Grinch approach to this time of year. "Happy Holidays" works better in my mind and this Jew welcomes a Merry Christmas anytime as I would hope you would enjoy a Happy Hanukkah from me.

Lets take a moment and agree about one thing. Regardless of faith or feelings about the Holidays, lets take a few moments and relish the gift of life.

Now go hug your children and tell them that you love them.

New state motto proposed for Illinois
"Illinois: Where our governors make our license plates"

In the wake of the latest political scandal to hit the state of Illinois, relatives of our nations 16Th President, Abraham Lincoln, are demanding that his name be removed from all published materials or officials documents associated with the state that until recently called itself, "The land of Lincoln."

"Can you blame them," said family spokesman Joseph Shbotnick. "Three governors have spent time in jail and a fourth one is most likely going to be bunk-mates with his predecessor. Why would a man with the nickname 'Honest-Abe' want to be associated with a state that has its governors making license plates in the Pokey?"

Mr. Shbotnick's comments were heard loud and clear by legislators in the Illinois state capital.

House Speaker Michael Madigan (D-corruptown) has already sent a measure to the floor, temporarily suspending the use of the current "land of Lincoln" motto. At the same time incoming Senate President John Cullerton (D-idiotville), has introduced a measure to change the motto to echo the words of the Lincoln family spokesman; "Illinois: where our governors make our license plates."

Not everyone is happy with the recent developments in Springfield. Speaking by phone from his prison cell in Terre Haute, Indiana, former Illinois Governor, George Ryan, expressed his concerns about the pending legislation.

"I have done everything I can to get out of license plate duty," Ryan said. "I scrub floors, work the laundry and even agreed to be that 'American Taliban' guy prison-bitch to get out of plate duty. They will certainly stick me in the license plate room just to humiliate me if this bill passes.

Gov. Rob Blagojevich was combative when reporters outside his Chicago home asked him about the motto situation.

"They should change the motto to Blago-land," Blagojevich said. "I'm the most honest governor in state history. I was upfront with rep. Jackson and congressman Emanuel about how much money I wanted for the senate seat."

The governors wife, Patty Blagojevich, also addressed reporters camped outside the house.

"F**king Obama knew before election night that I wanted a f**king job or Rod needed a cabinet spot," she said. "Only an a**hole would give away a senate seat for free."

Support for the motto change is overwhelming state-wide, especially in Cook County. Copy and print businesses with "no-bid" government contracts have made hefty campaign contributions to both Speaker Madigan and soon-to-be Senate President Cullerton. Both leaders have stated that these recent donations have nothing to do with the multi-million dollar price tag to change the motto on all government documents, forms and stationary. The timing is "purely coincidental."

Democrat leaders believe that once the bills have passed both houses and then override the governors certain veto, new license plates will read, where our governors make our license plates, within sixty-days.

Republican leaders were unavailable for comment. We couldn't find any.

If you hadn’t been elected, I would have moved to Canada, where people live really long lives because they don’t pay for anything. Ever.

Santa Obama, please make us more like Canada. Or Denmark. Sean Penn says Venezuela is super cool, you might want to look into that. Sean Penn knows a lot because he’s awesome in “Milk” and that’s about politics. Rob Reiner is another celebrity who has great ideas about the direction of the country. They’re just hard to hear through a mouthful of food but you could create a new federal commission work on that. Something like the Office of Waiting To Hear What Rob Reiner Says In Between Bites. Pay for it with money from The Rich, because they are evil. Unless they’re Kennedys.

Festival of Lights

Tonight at Sundown marks the beginning of Hanukkah, also known as Festival of Lights or Festival of Rededication. My Gentile friends often ask me why Hanukkah never starts on the same day of the year? Obviously they are comparing the Jewish holiday to Christmas, which always starts on the same date. Hanukkah actually does start on the same day every year, but on the Hebrew calendar, 25Th day of Kislev.

Unfortunately very few people, especially Jews, have limited knowledge of the historical events that are commemorated during the eight nights of Hanukkah. Many Jewish children have suffered the same fate as their Christian counterparts and take this time of year for granted. To them it's simply a time to get stuff.

These kids are victims of their parents reluctance to educate their children about their faith and heritage. Mom & Dad themselves have become complacent and view the holidays as a time of gift giving, high credit card bills and anxiety. What they forget is the Spiritual meaning of Hanukkah and Christmas.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that this time of year should only have religious significance. I will address the overall beauty of the holidays in a few days. However, I do hope that Jewish parents will take this opportunity during Hanukkah to teach their children about the history behind the celebration.

Don't laugh, but if you have young children, Toddlers to Kindergarten age, check out A Rugrats Chanukah. Entertaining and filled with historical data.

Absent from the analysis of Governor Blagojevich’s role as auctioneer was the governor’s involvement in an earlier scandal. That earlier story went generally untouched by the media — outside of Chicago — because it had a direct bearing on the character of then-presidential candidate and media darling Barack Obama.

President-elect’s convenient ignorance
When your pals are corrupt, ignorance is bliss

As President-elect Barack Obama prepares for the Oval office, his transition into power has been interrupted by the recent arrest of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. The indicted Democrat allegedly tried to sell the President-elect’s vacant senate seat to the highest bidder. Obama has not been implicated in any wrong doing, but keeping with the tradition of Chicago politics, unethical people and corruption once again surround our next President. Regarding his own tradition of ignorance, Obama is clueless to the behavior of the people around him.

Let’s put the current debacle in perspective.

U.S. Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, was just elected President of the United States. Soon after the election, he submitted his letter of resignation from the senate, so the governor, an avid campaign supporter, could appoint a replacement. When the current scandal broke, Obama was asked if he ever discussed his replacement with Blagojevich. He responded by publicly stating, “I have not discussed the Senate seat with the governor at any time.”

Reality check: Does it make any sense that the President-elect wouldn’t take five minutes to pick up the phone and call the governor, who decides his replacement, to discuss the vacancy? Add the fact that he made it known (leaked) that he wanted the seat to go to long time friend and advisor Valerie Jarrett.

Is it conceivable at all?

In the world of Barack Obama, there certainly is precedent to believe in what can only be described as convenient ignorance.

President-elect Obama spent more than twenty years as member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. The church pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, is a man he has lavishly praised. Wright married the President-elect and his wife, baptized their children and has been credited by Obama as his spiritual mentor. But during the Presidential primaries it was revealed that Wright preaches racism, despises America and promotes anti-Semitism.

"I wasn't in church during the time that these statements were made. I did not hear such incendiary language myself, personally. Either in conversations with him or when I was in the pew, he always preached the social gospel,” Obama repeatedly said.

For twenty years he prayed with and sought guidance from his pastor. Wright was an intricate part of Obama and his family’s life. But he never knew his spiritual advisor harbored so many hateful feelings.

During the Presidential race America had the misfortune of reopening an old wound known as William Ayers. The unrepentant domestic terrorist turned college professor was a member of the 1960’s radical group the Weather Underground. This group was responsible for numerous bombings that included the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol. Ayers and his wife, fellow Underground member Bernadine Dohrn, were also implicated in the murder of a San Francisco police officer.

When reports surfaced during the primary that Ayers and his wife played an intricate role in Obama’s early political career, as well as the fact that the two served together on a board for a non-profit group, Obama and his staff went into convenient ignorance mode.

He “didn't know the history” of William Ayers, said Obama’s chief campaign strategist, and current senior advisor, David Axelrod.

Obama studied political science at Columbia University and has a Jurist Doctor from Harvard Law School. However when it comes to knowing U.S. history, including the political turmoil of the 1960’s, which prominently features Ayers and his wife, he is conveniently ignorant.

The number of incidents in which Barack Obama had no knowledge of criminal activity, bigotry or unethical behavior amongst friends, family and advisors is disconcerting.

Since Chicago politics has once again become a favorite target of late-night comedians, who can forget Obama and Blagojevich fundraiser Anton “Tony” Rezko. The man who advised the President-elect when he purchased his Chicago home and sold him property on the adjacent lot, was convicted of 16 felony counts, including fraud, money laundering and bribery conspiracy.

At least in this case Obama admitted that his dealing with Rezko was a “mistake.” Regarding his friend’s criminal activity, Obama said, “This isn't the Tony Rezko I knew.” I always found that remark pathetically naïve. Everyone else in Cook County politics knew that’s exactly who Rezko was.

The examples I used to showcase Obama’s convenient ignorance, is only the tip of the iceberg. I won’t rehash the discussions about anti-Israel advisors Samantha Powers and Robert Malley or his friendship with Columbia University professor and former PLO spokesman, Rashid Khalidi.

I’m sure the President-elect never knew his foreign policy advisors despise Israel and his teaching buddy called the establishment of the Jewish State a “catastrophe.”

As the Blagojevich soap opera unravels, the President-elect’s senior advisor, David Axelrod, has already had to retract a statement that contradicted Obama’s claim that he never discussed the vacant senate seat with the indicted governor.

During a November 23 interview with the Fox affiliate in Chicago, Axelrod said “I know he has talked to the governor,” referring to the senate seat. At the time they were forgetful remarks. Today they mean the next President of the United States is dishonest.

Axelrod has issued a statement claiming that he was “mistaken” during the interview and that Obama and Blagojevich, “did not then or at any time discuss the subject.”

Call it a Christmas miracle!

The latest Obama confidant to get caught-up in “Blagogate,” is Chief of Staff to the President-elect, Rahm Emanuel. According to the Chicago Tribune, Emanuel did have “conversations with Gov. Rod Blagojevich's administration about who would replace Obama in the U.S. Senate.”

This recent revelation contradicts Obama’s statement that he was "confident that no representatives" of his staff had engaged in any negotiations with the governor over the senate seat.

There are very few certain truths in politics. One thing that is for sure is that the Blagojevich scandal won’t be going away soon. As the walls come crumbling down, so will the skeletons hidden in the closet of various Chicago Democrats.
If the Blagojevich indictment and continued investigation has more political casualties, will any of them have any ties to the President-elect?

This of course is all speculation. What is not speculation is how Obama will react if anybody with ties to the President-elect is found to be involved in criminal or unethical behavior.

“That isn’t (insert name) that I knew.”

As President of the United States, convenient ignorance is never convenient.

Blagojevich Lt. Governor is not the great hope
Once believed champion of citizens rights is smelling the power

For over three decades, Illinois Lt. Governor Pat Quinn has been a leading advocate of citizen empowerment. That's why when Gov. Rob Blagojevich was arrested last week, I smiled at the thought of Quinn replacing Blagojevich as he most certainly will resign or be impeached from office. Unfortunately that new found hope quickly vanished as Quinn began acting like a typical power hungry Cook County politician.

This whole ordeal started because Blagojevich allegedly was trying to sell the U.S. Senate seat recently vacated by President-elect Obama. With pay to play schemes tainting the governor's ability to appoint a new senator, the majority of political leaders in Illinois agree that a special election should be held to fill the position. Quinn uncharacteristically does not.

Last Wednesday Quinn, a self-professed populist, advocated a special election. However in his own words, "I've had to reflect on that in the last couple of days," suddenly believes the governor should be immediately impeached and he should decide, not the people, who should represent Illinois in the senate.

Quinn's power grab may not be surprising to most voters. In Illinois, especially Cook County, the average citizen expects such behavior from their representatives. They campaign against machine politics and once elected become a valve in the engine. Quinn was supposed to be different.

Quinn has been a leading advocate for voter initiatives, public referendums, constitutional convention and voter recall of public officials. That is why when Illinois needs him most to lead by example and implement ideas that empower people, his about-face is so disheartening.

Maybe I shouldn't be so surprised. He is a Democrat from Cook County, which some would argue means you were born with a three-dollar bill in your mouth. Or at least you owed someone a political favor once you came out of the womb.

Could Quinn himself be afraid of something?

When he served as Illinois State Treasurer in the early 1990's, his office helped convicted felon Anton "Tony" Rezko obtain $875,000 in loans for a housing project. Quinn has also received nearly $20,000 in contributions from Rezko, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The so-called champion of the people has been an adamant defender of his indicted boss, even after it was publicly announced that Blagojevich was the subject of numerous federal investigations.

“He’s [Blagojevich] always been a person who’s honest and one of integrity…I have confidence the governor does the right thing all the time,” Quinn told the Daily Herald in October of 2006.

The above comment was also made after it was revealed that Blago's seven-year old daughter received a $1500 check as a gift from a man whose wife obtained a state job. Hello...anyone home?

As a strong proponent of transparent and accountable government, as well as empowering the electorate, I have always viewed in Quinn in a positive light. He may be a big liberal, but he was an honest one and that is hard to find in Cook County.

But has that changed or was it even there to begin with?

I don't know anymore.

What I do know is that Quinn can taste power. Power corrupts and he may be enjoying the flavor to much to share with the people.

Nobody knew how low Blagojevich would go
Senate seat for sale, children used and journalists intimidated

The pages of Paulies Point have been filled with stories about Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich and his shady activities, incompetent policies and selfish behavior. I wrote about his political pandering to senior citizens. I used him as an example why citizens should have the right to recall elected officials. And recently I explained why he is "disliked more than President Bush" and "despised as much as the congress of the United States." But not even I could imagine how low Blagojevich would go.

Imagine bidding for a seat in the United States Senate on Ebay? What about living in a country that doesn't elect their leaders, but sells political representation to the person willing to write the biggest check? You no longer have to Imagine.

According to the office of the U.S. Attorney, Governor Blagojevich ran such a pay-for-play scheme. First prize was the U.S. Senate seat recently vacated by President-elect Barack Obama. "The Senate seat "is a f**king valuable thing, you just don't give it away for nothing," Blagojevich allegedly said on wiretaps. This is only the second best example of how disturbing Blago's mind works. He didn't view his decision to replace Obama as an important responsibility of his office. What he saw was an opportunity for financial gain or at worst further his political career. "I'm going to keep this Senate option for me a real possibility, you know, and therefore I can drive a hard bargain," Blagojevich was recorded saying. "You hear what I'm saying. And if I don't get what I want and I'm not satisfied with it, then I'll just take the Senate seat myself."

While the media reports and political pundits are concentrating on the above aspect of the indictment, I don't believe this is Blagojevich at his worst.

The indicted governor promised to make 8 million dollars available to Children's Memorial Hospital as long as a hospital executive contributed $50,000 to Blagojevich's campaign fund.

According to the 74 page indictment affidavit, "intercepted phone conversations between Rod Blagojevich and others indicate that Rod Blagojevich is contemplating rescinding his commitment of state funds to benefit Children's Memorial Hospital because Hospital Executive 1 has not made a recent campaign contribution."

Let me put this in more simple terms. Unless some hospital big wig gives Blago a 50k check, he was going take away 8 million dollars he had recently made available to help sick children.

Take a moment, look at your kids and tell me you aren't filled with anger... I didn't think so.

It may be despicable to sell a seat in the U.S. Senate, but to even conceive of taking away money allocated to help sick children, can only be described as inhumane.

A word that has gained traction in describing Blagojevich is a term usually saved for serial killers, Sociopath. While nobody is accusing the governor of murder, his self-serving behavior, feelings of entitlement, pathological lying and charming appearance, while all along being engulfed with hidden hostility, makes him a textbook case.

The Blago saga is far from over. As Illinois residents got ready for work this morning, the big question being asked on television, radio and in the newspapers was “who is senate candidate #5?” This appears to be a sitting congressman who discussed paying the governor his asking price for the seat. The candidates that are believed to be on Blago’s original short list are representatives Jesse Jackson Jr., Jan Schakowsky, Danny Davis, Danny Davis, Luis Gutierrez and former Illinois Senate President Emil Jones. Most likely one of these names will also get a phone call from the U.S. Attorney asking them to open their front door and put on handcuffs.

On the immediate agenda is the future of the governor’s office. Democrats and Republicans are almost unanimously calling for his resignation. However very few representatives believe he will resign and therefore talks of Impeachment are on the table.

What must be made clear to people outside of Illinois is that nobody is surprised Blagojevich has been indicted. Since 2003 he has been under numerous federal investigations. People have been joking about former governor and convicted felon George Ryan becoming cell-mates with Blagojevich. Everyone knew this day was coming.

What nobody predicted was how low Blago would stoop. Selling senate seats, denying medical funds for children and I haven’t even addressed the fact that he intimidated the Chicago Tribune. Demanding they fire editorial writers who were unfriendly to him or he would withhold funding and tax breaks, regarding the sale of Wrigley Field.

Over the next few days expect increased calls for his resignation and by next week impeachment proceedings to begin. A special election is being discussed to fill the vacant senate seat, but that may be rescinded by the Democratic establishment when they realize that they could loose the seat to the GOP.

Blagojevich will be offered a deal that will spare his family. His wife Patty, who also is as legitimate as a three-dollar bill, won’t be indicted and be able to raise their kids in the family home. In exchange he will have to play ball. This includes admitting guilt, naming accomplices, paying fines and serving time.

Even if justice is served and Blagojevich goes to prison, the level of corruption is so great in Cook County that his conviction will only make a dent into the culture of corruption that has plagued this state, especially Cook County, for over a half-century.

The Land of Lincoln will still be the Land of Stinkin'.

It's amazing how a youthful mind works. When your barely out of college, naive, energetic and determined to make your mark in the world, confronting great odds has a special appeal that is often not found in the thinking of older, pragmatic adults. As a 25 year-old political junkie, dreaming of making my passion for politics my profession, I could have never guessed my first paid political gig would have such fascinating consequences.

In 1996 Congressman Sidney Yates was the longest serving member in the House of Representatives. He was 87 years old, first elected in 1948 and had the worst attendance record of any representative in the country. Yates had become more concerned about funding the National Endowment for the Arts than helping average Americans. He was the poster-child for term limits and needed to go. Yours truly managed the campaign effort to make this happen.

We didn't.

What we did do was put the congressman in an unfamiliar position. Polling numbers had placed my candidate, Republican Joe Walsh (not the Eagles guitarist), within striking distance of Yates. In what was considered to be the safest Democratic district in the country, was no longer very safe.

We later learned that Yates had made promises to Editorial Boards and the Democratic hierarchy, that if he received their endorsement and active support, he would not run for another term. They supported him and with the help of single punch, straight Party voting (no longer available), our efforts fell short.

Now the shock wave begins.

Yates promised retirement opened the door for a hard fought primary in 1998. The Democratic machine tapped State Sen. Howard Carroll to replace Yates. However State Rep. Jan Schakowsky and Billionaire JB Pritzker, had other ideas. When it was over with, Pritzker was able to take enough votes away from Carroll, resulting in a Schakowsky win.

Without the threat posed by the Walsh campaign two years earlier, Yates would of stayed in office until his remaining days on earth. This would have permitted the political machine of Cook County to name Carroll his replacement. As a sitting congressman, he would still have his seat today. Schakowsky at best would have become Carroll's replacement in the State Senate.

As Congresswoman, Schakowsky quickly gained prominence in the Progressive movement and without a doubt is the most powerful female politician in Illinois. She brought her influence into play during the 2004 Illinois race for U.S. Senate, backing guess who...Barack Obama.

During the primary, the Democratic Machine anointed Illinois Comptroller Dan Hynes to be their candidate. Unforeseen was the entrance of six additional candidates including multi-millionaire Blair Hull, who had a substantial lead headed into the final month. Accusations of abuse by Hull's ex-wife caused a stampede of voters jumping off the sinking "Hull".

As Democrats scrambled to back another candidate, the majority turned to Obama. With Schakowsky behind him, which means labor unions and powerful financial players, Obama was able to implement an extensive ground game and bombard the television airwaves during the final three weeks of the campaign. He would go on to win his bid for the U.S. Senate, handily defeating Hynes, Hull and the rest of the field.

We all know how the rest of the story plays out.

So there you have it. Your brilliant blogger, champion of limited government, defender of the free market, advocate for school choice and supporter of the war in Iraq, is responsible for Barack Obama being President of the United States.

OK, I won't go that far, but if you look at the chain of events, the degrees of separation, it's intriguing to say the least.

This posting was not written to satisfy my ego. My readers know the last thing I wanted this past November was for Barack Obama to become the next President of the United States. My purpose today is to point out something that makes our country great.

While one may not always get the results they desire, one person, a small group of dreamers or a simple idea, can change the world.

In 1996 a small group of citizens exercised their right to assemble. Their goal was to change their representation in Washington. While the change they hoped for did not happen. Their efforts brought about change they could never fathom.

Be careful what you wish for.

Mumbai: A Message for America

Americans have been assured that the horror and terror that exploded across television screens from Mumbai in late November will not affect our own sense of security. Such assurances are as disingenuous as they are comforting. The murders carried out against Western tourists in India's most technologically sophisticated city have far-reaching implications for Americans, not just for those of us traveling abroad, but for all of us getting up everyday and going about life's routines.

Those who have prescribed this analgesic of comfort have focused on where this event took place. Far and away more important are the terrorists' strategies and tactics.

The attacks were carried out almost simultaneously on multiple targets. Airing during the Thanksgiving holiday, the attacks were designed to draw major media attention in America. The targeting and execution showed sophistication, extensive planning, and precision training. The terrorists had a low probability of evading authorities and a high probability of getting killed.

Tortured

Well, its over! The practitioners of the peaceful religion of Islam are dead with one in captivity. The people of Mumbai, India are attempting to move forward with investigations, accusation while at the same time experiencing, distraught, outrage, pain and fear. The victims, tortured (especially the Israelis) destroyed, and once again senselessly taken from their families, from all of us; they are us!

The new administration in America will most likely down play the word, "Tortured" The incident was a cowardly act done by a few radical extremist. My friend, Paul Miller speaks to this point rather well.

For those of us who are yet, still alive, here is what we all should come to understand about Islam. For 30 years the entire globe is being tortured by this "Religion of peace." For centuries, the religion of peace has enslaved, brutally oppressed and killed thousands in every nation that is took by force...which includes all of them! Globally, we sit and pick out those who are planning, YES, planning to kill someone else and refer to them, after the deed as radical.

Dan Rather, Katie Couric, and an Israeli soldier were captured by terrorists in Iraq. The leader of the terrorists told them that he would grant them each one last request before they were beheaded.

Dan Rather said, “Well, I’m a Texan, so I’d like one last bowlful of hot spicy chili.” The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the chili. Rather ate it all and said, “Now I can die content.”

Katie Couric said, “I’m a reporter to the end. I want to take out my tape recorder and describe the scene here and what’s about to happen. Maybe someday someone will hear it and know that I was on the job till the end.” The terror leader directed an aide to hand over the tape recorder and Couric dictated some comments. She then said, “Now I can die happy.”

The leader turned and said, “And now, Mr. Israeli tough guy, what is your final wish?” “Kick me in the ass,” said the soldier. “What?” asked the leader? “Will you mock us in your last hour?” “No, I’m not kidding. I want you to kick me in the ass,” insisted the Israeli.

So the leader shoved him into the open and kicked him in the ass. The soldier went sprawling, but rolled to his knees, pulled a 9mm pistol from under his flak jacket, and shot the leader dead. In the resulting confusion, he jumped to his knapsack, pulled out his carbine and sprayed the terrorists with gunfire. In a flash, all terrorists were either dead or fleeing for their lives.

As the soldier was untying Rather and Couric, they asked him, “Why didn’t you just shoot them in the beginning? Why did you ask them to kick you in the ass first?”

“What?” replied the Israeli, “and have you two assholes report that I was the aggressor?!

Mass Murder in Mumbai

Will the West finally learn after Mumbai?

They wanted to kill 5000 innocent men, woman and children and in their disturbing view of the world only succeeded in murdering approximately 300 civilians. Azam Amir Kasab, 21, from Pakistan, the only terrorist to survive, told India police, these attacks were planned six months ago and were intended to kill 5,000 people. This poor excuse for a human being told authorities "I did right" in referring to the rampage of death he and his terror colleagues committed.

I'm of course talking about the horrific events that began Wednesday evening in Mumbai, India and ended 3 days later. Ten heavily armed Islamic-fundamentalists went on a killing spree, determined to murder as many people as they could beginning with a local train station. The eventual goal was to attack the Taj Mahal and Oberoi Hotels as well as the Chabad House. By targeting "whites" at the hotels they believed this was the best method to determine who were American and British citizens. Obviously the Chabad House being the local Jewish community center, was the best location to target Israeli tourists and the small local Jewish community. Their goal was to murder as many people as they could or in the words of the only terrorist to be captured, "until our last breath."

While American, British and Israeli security officials arrive in India to assist the government in assessing the carnage, reports are coming out that the Jewish victims were tortured before they were executed.

Self-haters target Israel for Christmas
London church hosts an anti-Israel carolling

It's ironic that during a time of the year when Christians all over the world are celebrating the birth of a Jew, who they believe with all their heart and soul is the son of God, some would support the activities of self-hating Jews, who have put together an anti-Israel Christmas event.

"The event, called Bethlehem Now: Nine Alternative Lessons And Carols For Palestine, has been organized by Jews For Boycotting Israeli Goods, a group of secular British Jews opposed to Israeli policies," the London Times Online reports.

What can only be properly described as a hate-rally, will feature traditional Christmas Carols with the lyrics changed. They have been rewritten to attack the Jewish State. Instead of singing about peace on earth, goodwill toward men and the most wonderful time of the year, they will be singing bloody murder and condemning Israel for defending herself against terrorism and a genocidal mindset. Of course the Pro-Palestinians groups and the host church, St James’s, Piccadilly of London, see it differently. What cannot be denied is this event is a disturbing attempt to promote hatred toward Israel and even more disgusting are the self-hating Jews who are at the core of this so-called Holiday celebration.

Thankfully some common sense and decency is prevailing. Former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey, is condemning the event as well as David Gifford, the chief executive of the Council of Christians and Jews.

Unfortunately some religious figures in London see nothing wrong with the event and believe Christmas is the most appropriate time to "address the need for peace and reconciliation," said Rev Charles Hedley, rector of the St James’s church. Unfortunately the "address"ing of the situation Rev. Hedley speaks of does not mention Arab suicide bombers blowing up buses filled with Israeli children or the rocket bombardment falling on civilians in Israel. That has been conveniently left out of this event.

When I was reading the Times Online article I was reminded of the sad reality of self-hating Jews. Some of my friends an colleagues feel I use the phrase to frequently and in a misguided manner. I disagree.

It's bad enough that some Jews don't care about Israel or are oblivious to the threats against their own people. This is a growing problem within the American Jewish community, especially amongst those who identify with the Reform movement. As a proud member of a synagogue that is "reform," I have seen this growing epidemic first hand. However such people also don't wish harm against Israel and to a limited extent understand her importance.

Then there are those Jews who view Israel as the problem. They ignore the terrorism, anti-Semitism and shear hatred practiced against her, viewing Israels existence as the root cause. Get rid of the cause and you no longer have the effect.

Such an attitude is simply suicidal. Which is why during this Thanksgiving week, I want to express my gratitude to my Gentile brothers and sisters who stand with me in support of Israel and combat anti-Semitism every time it rears it's ugly face.

Without them there would be no Jewish Homeland. Thank you!

Children victimized by political correctness
Native Americans and Pilgrims expelled from school

The children of Condit Elementary School in Claremont, California will no longer be able to enjoy a four-decade-old tradition of dressing up as Indians and Pilgrims to celebrate Thanksgiving. The political correctness cops have spoken up against children wearing costumes the kids made because they inaccurately depict history and promote stereotypes.

Your brilliant bloggers first response was "finally!" It's about time someone stood up to a society that depicts the Pilgrims as stereotypical homosexuals wearing stockings, garters and ruffle shirts. Then it occurred to me that the clothing was accurate and the complaints were regarding the depiction of Native Americans and their traditional clothing and regalia.

My Bad!

Of course I'm joking and the reason being is that political correctness is a joke and like so many things in America, a good idea has gone much to far and now the negatives greatly outweigh the positives.

Michelle Raheja, the mother of a kindergartner at Condit Elementary School, is to blame for ruining a good wholesome tradition. Raheja, whose mother is a Seneca, compared children dressing up as Indians and Pilgrims to dressing up like slaves (and kind slave masters), or Jews (and friendly Nazis).

Hey Raheja! What is offensive is your comparisons to the Holocaust and Slavery as well as your disingenuous account of history. While no one should ever deny the suffering Native Americans have endured for the past four hundred years, the truth is that they inflicted just as much bloodshed as they received.

In the past I have written about the endless controversy regarding Native American Mascots. Schools and University's have caved into protests by a minority of Indians claiming these symbols are racists. While the issues of Native American Mascots and the Thanksgiving celebration are different, the similarity is the dress garb. A 2002 poll shows that 81% of Native Americans are not offended by the outfits as implied by the profiteering activists.

What we do know is that nearly 400 years ago Pilgrims and Native Americans sat down and broke bread. Even if this festival was the only time these different people lived in peace, which it wasn't, it should be remembered and celebrated. In fact because of the violence that would follow throughout history is more of a reason to give thanks for the peace that was shared.

Even for just a moment.

Holiday Cheer and Economic Fears

The past few days have been tough for your brilliant blogger. "Maybe you shouldn't watch the news for a few days," my mother uttered to me after hearing the anger in my voice. This response came after frustration got the best of me and in an disgruntled voice I said, "they are so incompetent and beholden to the auto workers union, and couldn't give a damn about doing what is right." I was referring to the Democratic congressional leaders who are attempting to bailout the United Auto Workers Union, with fraudulent claims of an economic calamity that will ensue if the government doesn't grant the Big 3 auto makers 25 billion dollars.

The cast of characters are the same. Barney Frank, Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, but there is one newcomer to this intellectually challenged group, Rep. Sandy Levin, who happens to be the brother of Michigan Senator Carl Levin. All these individuals have certain commonalities. They are all Democrats, fiscally challenged and lackeys for the unions. In the case of the Levin brothers, the UAW is their puppet master.

Many Democrats rely on unions to get them elected. As Chrysler, Ford and GM beg congress for money, the UAW refuses to admit that in these hard economic times, their current contract makes it impossible for the Big 3 to compete. UAW President Ron Gettelfinger recently placed the blame on the economy and iterated that the UAW will not make any concessions. Making matters worse, Gettelfinger had the genius idea that the government needs to figure out a way to turn around this slumping economy. Brilliant!

What Mr. Gettelfinger conveniently forgets to mention is that GM hasn't made a profit since the fourth quarter of 2006. At that time economic conditions were much stronger, the DOW Jones was at 12,500 compared to 7,500. So even if Obamesiah can bring financial prosperity back to America on the day he takes the oath of office, the American auto industry will still fail.

As Mitt Romney wrote in the New York Times earlier his week, "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt." The auto industry needs an overhaul, a restructuring as the former governor of Massachusetts brilliantly explained in his op-ed piece. That harsh reality is that 25 billion dollars for the industry will only contribute to their eventually demise. Without a bailout the auto-industry will have to file for Chapter 11. This will allow the Big 3 to reorganize, pay creditors over time and restructure themselves to be able to compete in a Global marketplace, instead of using a business model that is thirty years old.

While nobody wants to see anyone loose their job or see a decrease in wages and benefits, economic realities will require some UAW member to accept buyouts, take early retirements, accept benefit cuts and sadly, some will loose their job. If the Big 3 don't restructure and renegotiate their contract with the UAW, the American auto industry will become a memory. Government meddling will only worsen the situation as they always do.

The sad reality is that every lawmaker, Automotive CEO and Mr. Gettelfinger know the truth. However if the Democrats and the union bosses who pull their strings can steal from the taxpayers and flush money down the toilet, I mean give GM, Ford and Chrysler a fat check, come election time they can save face with the unions and leftists who put them in office.

Isn't that all that matters? When you only care about power and keeping it...it is.

$1.99 a gallon. For most of you that was the price you were paying for gas a month ago. For drivers in the Peoples Republic of Cook County, prices under $2.00 have just arrived. While there is so little good economic news stemming from our nation and for that matter the world, America can take more than a little comfort in the fact that come Thanksgiving, my prediction of $1.50 a gallon gasoline should come true in many parts of this great country.

It's about the Free Market, which means it's about supply and demand. While environmentalist wackos rather see families struggling to pay $4.00 a gallon, come Christmas morning and the first night of Hanukkah, those same struggling families will be able to make their children very happy because they will have more money to spend at Toys R Us because they didn't have to give as much to Shell and Mobil.

From a national security perspective, we can also rejoice in knowing that Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will not have a happy holiday season. As we approach $40 a barrel oil, these poor excuses for human beings will see their financial futures dwindle as gas gets cheaper. If Mahmoud Ahmadickhead continues to be naughty, not nice, Santa Claus will arrive in the form of an Israeli fighter jet who will drop enough presents filled with devastating explosives that his nuclear facilities will melt like the chocolate chips I put on my delicious matzoh-bark.

When millions of Americans as well as billions of people world-wide woke up the morning after Barack Obama was elected President, they probably expected the dawn of a new age. Sorry to disappoint all you Obama-kool-aid drinkers, but America's enemies still hate us and do so regardless who occupies the White House.

This morning our friends from Al-Qaida posted a message on militant websites aimed at persuading Arabs and Muslims to not believe that Obama's election will change U.S. policies. While I have sounded the alarm bell that an Obama Presidency will weaken America and be detrimental to the State of Israel, my argument that our enemies hate us because of our freedom and tolerance, regardless of our leadership and policies, stands proven.

Hillary to be Secretary of State?
Obama wants her out of the Senate

New York Senator Hillary Clinton may be named secretary of state by the time you read this edition of Paulies Point. In what can only be described as a laughable failure of the American press, the British publication The Guardian is reporting that Clinton has accepted President-elect Barack Obama's offer for the position.

The decision by Obama to have Clinton serve as the face and voice of U.S. foreign policy is a brilliant move on many levels. First and foremost it gets her out of the Senate. The President-elect knows better than anyone how badly Hillary wants his soon to be job. As a Senator she can be the first person to point out his failures and by opposing one or two pieces of key legislation that passes the Congress, but fails after implementation, she could position herself brilliantly for a 2012 primary challenge. A door Ted Kennedy opened up when he challenged a sitting President of his own Party, Jimmy Carter, in 1980.

As secretary of state, Hillary will no longer have her own voice. She'll serve at the discretion of the President as his representative throughout the world. She may view this as an opportunity to pad her resume for another attempt at the Oval office, knowing full well Joe Biden won't be seeking the White House in 2016. By then Obama won't care what she does. His failures will be hers as well as his accomplishments.

What could be interesting is if Hillary decides to go rogue on Barack and act by her own accord. There are already reports surfacing that Obama is supportive of a middle-east peace plan suggested back in 2002 by Saudi Arabia. This disastrous initiative gives Syria back the Golan Heights and forces Israel to retreat to pre-1967 borders. Hillary could attempt to thwart this idea, which would allow her to make inroads amongst Evangelicals and hard line supporters of the Jewish state. But I don't believe this is the case.

Obama is tempting her with the idea that she can be part of history. The current incompetent leadership in Israel would agree to this suicide pact. In eight years she will be 69 years old and after John McCain's campaign at age 72, her comparable youth would not be an issue.

From a practical stand point your brilliant blogger believes Hillary would be a good secretary. While my friends on the right are cringing and feeling faint, please allow me to explain.

Clinton is not stupid or naive. Unlike the incompetent Madeline Albright, she will practice the words of Ronald Reagan, "trust but verify." While Albright would enjoy Champagne with Kim- Jong-il, Clinton would make sure her glass wasn't poisoned.

There is also no denying that the Clinton name carries respect world-wide. She will be able to take advantage of that reality. Her biggest obstacle will be handling orders from President Obama. Hopefully he will take advice from her, realizing he is a novice when it comes to foreign policy.

Lets get the acceptance confirmation first.

If you checked out the Drudge Report this morning, you might think the world was approaching extinction. Iran is testing a new missile, Russia is rejecting a U.S. missile proposal, USA may loose their AAA rating, the American auto-industry is on the verge of bankruptcy and American Express headlines the page, holding their hand out at the government money-till demanding a few billion from Uncle Sam. Are things as bad as they seem? Actually yes!

Before I go into details, I do want to address positive news, at least for average everyday Americans. You probably have noticed that you're no longer paying $4 for a gallon of gas. Actually your no longer paying $3 and if you live in a state that does not have to provide a container of Vaseline when sending tax forms, you are paying under $2 for a gallon of gasoline. Obviously everybody welcomes the decline in gas prices, but such a drastic drop in a short period of time, is a clear sign of how bad the economy is globally.

Oil producing nations better known as terrorists, I mean OPEC, have already cut oil production output. However the bottom line is even when supplies are cut, if demand doesn't increase, than prices will still dwindle. While the entire planet is suffering financially and much worse than the United States, prices are dropping because people are not driving as much. Sorry Hugo and Mahmoud, but most of America will be paying nearly $1.50 a gallon by Thanksgiving.

If you read the articles I linked in the first paragraph you will see and underlying theme...GOVERNMENT! While there is no way to exclude the evil "G" word when is comes to security and foreign policy matters, it can and should be avoided when it comes to everything else. Economics, Education, Health Care and anything else that doesn't have to do with security and enforcing contracts, Uncle Sam needs to leave alone. Government turns everything it touches to sh*t. Just look at our economy.

I have addressed this matter before, but for the future of America it must be repeated. Government got us into this crisis, their involvement will make it worse and in reality it already has. The money allocated to supposedly save our economy is being used by financial institutions for administrative costs and compensation bonuses for corporate big wigs. While I believe private entities should pay whatever bonuses they deem worthy to management, in the current crisis the funds are from taxpayers, not profits and therefore, such compensation is called fraud.

They say that death and taxes are the only certainties in life. But another undeniable truth is that government never learns from their mistakes. Repeating their incompetence is a Washington tradition just like intoxicated Kennedy's and congressman having sex with pages.

Knowing this sad truth, other corporations from the auto industry to American Express are lining up at the door of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with their hand out at the endless financial- till of the government. While nobody wants to see the auto industry collapse and those great Amex commercials off the air, our government cannot fix the problem. They will just make it worse.

So what is the answer? The best solution and only solution is Capitalism. Free market solutions have always been our nation savior and will once again, if Washington and the American people will allow it. People quickly forget that all economic systems have cycles and trends. When capitalism is peaking it does so higher than we can imagine. When she turns downward, times can get rough, but they never collapse. Socialism or the European style that has capitalism traits, sees highs with limitations and declines that are devastating.

Washington has been driving down this path for twenty years. The Republicans talked about changing courses when they controlled all three branches of government, but sadly "stayed the course." Obama, Pelosi and Reid driving the train will speed up the transition into European-style Socialism, which simply means increased regulation, limited freedom (including speech), higher taxes and corporate welfare.

May I be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah! I'm sorry it won't be as Merry and Happy as Speaker Pelosi and her selected friends receiving your tax dollars.

As a writer and pundit who has never been shy about expressing my opinion, this past week has been one that I will remember for the rest of my life. Everyone who reads Paulies Point can accurately guess that there isn't one aspect of my life where I don't wear my politics on my sleeve. With that said, friends, family and co-workers have shown genuine concern for my well being after Barack Obama was elected President.

I have one answer for anyone who asks me how I am doing during a time of genuine concern. "I have two beautiful boys and as long as they are happy and healthy, I am fine." My children determine everything I do and ultimately believe in. That is why I am so adamant about issues such as school choice, self-responsibility, limited government and of course the safety and security of Jews in Israel and world-wide.

Over the weekend I received an email from one of my oldest and closet friends who asked me if my concerns about Obama and Israel were "somewhat eased" with his selection of Rahm Emanuel (IL-5) for Chief of Staff? I responded with a long-winded diatribe about while Emanuel may be Jewish and has deep roots in Israel, he prioritizes politics and Party ahead of everything else.

After I replied to my friends email, I began thinking about the new Chief of Staff and how sad of a commentary about American politics my words truly were. Emanuel serves President-elect Obama for one reason and one reason only. To seek out and destroy all those that oppose Obama and his agenda, whatever that may be.

Emanuel is the ultimate partisan hack. He doesn't work with those who disagree with him or ever entertains other opinions. He is a well-documented foul-mouth hothead, who will professionally and personally destroy the lives of anyone who disagrees with him or his Party. Add the new administration to that list.

Over the weekend I watched a very entertaining rebroadcast of a charitable roast of the soon to be former congressman. The 2005 event served as a fundraiser for CURE, an organization founded by Obama advisor a campaign guru David Axelrod and his wife.

The event is filled with great jokes and great speakers, including Obama, Hillary and hosted by Paul Begalia. The theme of each speech geared to poke fun at Emanuel centers around fear of Rahm. Don't get in his way, don't oppose him, thank God he is on our side and of course his famous curse-filled vocabulary.

After watching the program it hit me that the President-elect with his first appointment has set the tone for his first term. Don't get in our way or oppose us. We will destroy you.

Washington insiders don't need Paulie or any number of countless pundits explaining to them what Emanuel as Chief of Staff means. They got the message as soon as word leaked that Obama asked him to be his WMD. However as always, your brilliant blogger finds the silver lining in every situation.

Emanuel may be a ruthless pitbull, but he also has one of the finest political minds to occupy Washington over the past twenty years.

Emanuel understands the political landscape and knows how to keep the Democrats in power. This may translate into Obama governing more from the center than the far-left as some fear. Socialist policies may be curtailed to being typical big government ideas that dominated both the Clinton and Bush administrations. In either case we are doomed to hard-times in the near future, but by permitting the free-market to remain active and not increasing taxes on those who produce the most in America, we can eventually get out of our current economic mess.

At the moment I am not confident that this will be the case. Government has a big stake in the banking industry and by years end will have a major role in the auto industry. These facts prove that America has taken the next big step into becoming a Socialist nation. Now add the political-lefts desire to silence those that disagree with them with the so-called "fairness doctrine," and an enormous leap into fascism will soon be upon us.

From Uncle Tom to the White House
Obama wins handily, Chicago not in flames

It seems like only yesterday President-elect Barack Obama was the subject of vile ridicule from none other than the Black community. When Obama had the audacity to challenge Congressman Bobby Rush for his seat in the Democrat Primary back in 2000, he was painted by the black political establishment in Chicago as an Uncle Tom. Less than a decade later he is their hero and savior.

Don't get me wrong I am not trying to take anything away from our 44Th President. I am simply pointing out the political and social irony that has taken place. Truth be told being crucified by some of the most corrupt political leaders in Illinois is a badge of honor in my book.

No rational-thinking person can deny history was made last night. America has her first African American President and that is something we all should be proud of. I may not have voted for Mr. Obama and have serious and admittedly fearful concerns about his ideas, but he is my President and he has my support.

Americans should rejoice in what has taken place. Free elections took place in our great country yesterday. The people have chosen a different political Party to occupy the White House and on January 20, 2009, the exchange of power will peacefully change over.

Vote Fraud Concerns

My biggest concern going into the race yesterday was voter fraud. As I indicated yesterday in these pages, I believed the fraudulent work of Acorn had already given Obama victories in key battleground states and Sen. McCain should contest these results if he had lost by a very slim margin. The fact is Obama didn't need Acorn to win Ohio, Florida and Virginia. He won these states by a margin greater than their influence and that may be a hard-pill to swallow for many friends of mine, but that is a good thing.

The fact that vote fraud didn't sway this election is a positive. Al Gore cries foul to this day and to an extent so does John Kerry. As you can see from recent comments in this Blog, 2000 continues to obscure the rational thinking of people and continues to divide America.

Recently I pointed out the importance of combating and eliminating fraudulent registration and voting activities. Even though I believe such deception did not determine the outcome of the presidential race, I can't say as of this moment how the actions of Acorn affected local elections. I do know they are a clear and present danger to the integrity of the voting process and unless Americans set partisanship aside and properly investigate this front group for Socialism, they will continue to orchestrate fraudulent political activities. That means everyone loses.

Please do not turn a blind eye to this threat to our Constitution. Keep learning about what is happening and urge your legislators to work together to defeat fraudulent voting. Don't turn America into Cook County. Turn to the Voter Integrity Project on Ballotpedia to get the non-partisan facts.

Barack Obama won yesterday and did so in a clear and convincing matter. Acorn cannot take that away from him and more importantly America.

Mark Kirk Wins
North Shore Jews have moment of clarity

When Dan Seals (D) woke-up this afternoon he came to the realization that not only is he not congressman-elect Seals, but he continues to be unemployed. After his second attempt to unseat Congressman Mark Kirk (R) in Illinois tenth congressional district ended in failure, it is a safe bet that the people of Chicago's North Shore have seen the last of him. If I'm wrong, then the Democrats have found their Jim Oberweiss.

This race was very important to your brilliant blogger. Kirk is my congressman and is the best friend the state of Israel has. While it is true that the five-term representative is not nearly as fiscally conservative as I am, he is good on taxes, represents the independent streak of his district and I'll say it again, the best friend supporters of Israel have in Washington.

American Jews, especially those, who identify themselves as reform, tend to no longer view the security of Israel and fellow Jews around the globe as a high priority. While many in the Jewish community deny this reality, when the voting figures come up showing that McCain received less than thirty percent of the Jewish vote, my concerns will be more than validated.

Due to this reality, I feared that Jews residing in Kirk's district would turn their back on him. Many of these people have become more partisan over the past few years and would rationalize their defection with claims that Seals offered them everything Kirk did without supporting the Iraq war. Seals also gave support for Israel wonderful lip service.

I am happy and proud to say that the Jews on the North Shore of Chicago paused for a moment, pulled their head out of their ass, and while they overwhelmingly supported Barack Obama, they put partisan politics aside and also voted for Kirk. In fact he won by a larger margin than he did two-years ago.

Barack Obama heads to the White House with words of support for Israel, but foreign policy advisers that would celebrate the Jewish states demise, American Jews and friends of Israel need Kirk more than ever.

While many in the pro-Israel community disagree with me, most Democrats in the House and Senate will remain silent if President Obama treats Israel in the manner I fear he will. Kirk with allies such a Peter Roskam(R) also from Illinois and Senators Lieberman (D-I), Coleman (R-MN) and Mike Pence of Indiana, who will be named Senator after Dick Lugar becomes Secretary of State, will keep Obama accountable to his campaign promises regarding Israel.

Today and tomorrow

While I do believe America has transferred back to 1976 and we will suffer the same economic fate as we did under the incompetent Jimmy Carter, the saving grace and long term benefit was 1980 and Ronald Reagan.

You heard it here first. President Newt Gingrich!

Go ahead and laugh liberals, but the parallels are uncanny. Reagan and Gingrich were both paralyzing figures, but a desperate nation under economic turmoil the current economy has at best just begun to touch, will bring unprecedented change.

I'm talking real change. Not a campaign slogan that played on peoples fears.

Obama landslide or McCain Upset?

Polls tightening and people having second thoughts

Who will be our next President? Unfortunately I do believe Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. Political logic as well as history shows that this will be a bad year for the GOP. However common sense would also dictate that Obama should be leading McCain by 20 points and on his way to a Reagan style landslide similar to 1984.

Why is this not the case? Why does McCain have a real chance at victory on Tuesday?

The mainstream media and liberal pundits are crying "racism" as the only reason why anyone would vote for McCain. The fact that Obama has proposed Socialist economic policies and had a spiritual mentor who hates America and despises Jews, somehow aren't reasons to cast a different ballot. Obama has also found a way to insult average hard-working Americans from all walks of life, criticizing their values and how they live their lives. Again, not a legitimate reason to not vote for Obamesiah.

This past weekend a couple of new developments entered the political arena granting McCain a fighting chance. First and foremost was an ad campaign from an anti-Obama group calling themselves GOPTrust.com. They spent 9 million dollars in battleground states running an ad featuring Obama's spiritual mentor Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Pundits such as yours truly, Dick Morris and Bill O'Reilly have said that Wright would be Obama's downfall. The problem became that McCain decided that Wright wouldn't be an issue his campaign would raise. Duhhhhhhh!

Someone else is doing what McCain should have been doing since August.

The other development is a comment Obama made regarding the coal industry. In a nutshell he made a reference to bankrupting an industry that many Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia voters depend on. Nice!

Even with these last minute developments, McCain has to defend a multitude of states that Bush won in 2000 and 2004. The odds of him winning all these states are stacked against him. Nevertheless, stranger things have happened.

The other reason I believe Obama will win is because of the edge he has going into Election Day due to, dare I say, voter fraud.

As I wrote earlier this week, the dead are voting for Obama and so are nearly a half million fraudulently registered individuals. Since the deceptive practices of Acorn were concentrated in swing states, Obama goes into Tuesday receiving thousands of votes that should not exist.

What I do know for certain is that if McCain finds himself losing key states by a few thousand here and a few thousand there, he needs to save the integrity of our Constitution and challenge the results.

If this was any other year I would say that unless voter fraud is spotted, assuming it's there is just as shameful. This year unfortunately, we already know it exists.

"Bring out your dead" to Vote

In the 1975 classic comedy “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” there is a famous scene commonly known as “bring out your dead.” In this scene, British actor Eric Idle plays a Medieval Times “Dead Collector” who walks through town with a pull-cart picking up dead bodies from the local citizens. While the skit may be humorous, in the real world of 2008 America so-called “community groups” are also bringing out the dead. They are bringing them to the polling place.

Melvin Porter was a retired truck driver and Dallas Cowboys fan who loved his wife Erma. Porter passed away from a stroke in January of 2007. However, death didn’t stop him from voting in the March 4 Democratic primary.

His wife recently became aware that someone cast a ballot in her late husband’s name. Last week election officials in Dallas County (TX) removed Melvin Porter’s name from the voter roll after his widow brought the painful matter to the attention of election officials.

While it is a safe bet that the deceptive practitioner who voted in March under Porter’s name won’t get away with degrading the integrity of this deceased family man on Tuesday, the question remains, how many other dead people will be voting all across America on November 4? How widespread and influential are the current fraudulent voting activities?

To fully grasp how extensive and potentially devastating voter fraud is all anyone has to do is put one word in any Internet news search engine... Acorn. The left wing “community organizing” group, which is heavily financed with taxpayer dollars and private donations by liberal power brokers such as George Soros, is currently under investigation in 11 states.

Stories about Acorn and voter fraud have been prevalent for multiple election cycles. Allegations, indictments and convictions are nothing new to the organization. The community group’s fraudulent activities can be traced back to 1986 when 12 members were convicted of voter fraud in Missouri. The group has been a topic of conversation during the current election cycle, especially pertaining to Sen. Barack Obama. The Democratic nominee for President has denied having ties to the organization. However, recent testimony by a former Acorn employee in Pennsylvania state court revealed that Obama has in fact had an extensive relationship with the organization for decades.

The American people should be outraged that their most likely next President has been unwilling to be honest with them regarding his involvement with Acorn. What is just as troubling, if not more so, is how the press has sat on their hands unwilling to investigate and ultimately report the endless trail of vote fraud perpetuated by Acorn.

Fair-minded people cannot deny that the reason the media has failed in their watchdog duties is fear of exposing groups whose activities, right or wrong, benefit their agenda. The only agenda they, or any American, should be concerned about is fairness and abiding by the laws that govern the voting process.

Over the past two decades, the objectivity failures of the media have produced a dark cloud over the public’s ability to receive reliable information from the press. However, as we have seen throughout our nations history, when such a cloud forms a silver lining follows soon after.

The alternative, or new media, has taken up the slack left behind from the mainstream press neglecting their journalistic responsibilities. As Election Day draws near, the majority of Americans are oblivious to the extensive fraudulent voting registration efforts as well as the illegal ballots being cast in early-voting states. While both sides of the aisle accuse each other of corrupting the electoral process, the bottom line is that people need to know the truth, or at least be able to find the information, so they can decide for themselves what is going on.

Voters, as well as journalists who still believe in the idea of a free and fair press, must start taking it upon themselves to learn about this cancer that is spreading throughout our country and killing our constitution. Resources such as the Voter Integrity Project found on Ballotpedia, are collecting the facts and presenting them to anyone who is interested in the truth, not partisan politics.

While the mainstream press refuses to acknowledge a problem exists, mentioning allegations only when it helps their agenda, no individual, who cares about this country, should want to see any U.S. citizen’s right to vote denied. It is in our national interest that the integrity of the voting process never be compromised.

In Chicago, we tend to laugh at the idea of the dead voting. It’s part of our history, tradition and folklore. But it’s no laughing matter or anything to be proud of.

Cook County, Illinois serves as an example of what will happen to our great country if elections are as legitimate as a three-dollar bill. Single Party rule, pay to play politics with no accountability and transparency will dominate the landscape.

Government of the people, by the people, and for the people, will become folklore.

Just Look at Who is Supporting Obama?

What do seventy percent of Florida’s Jewish voters have in common with Khadaffi, Ahmdinejad, Hezballah, and Hamas?

They are all supporting Barack Obama for the presidency.

Now, this is not one of those situations where a common political issue makes for strange bedfellows, unless of course you, like Oprah, believe Obama is the Messiah.

This is a more like two guys buying the same stock, one because it is going to go up and the other because he intends to sell it short. Both are on opposite sides of the same trade.

So who got this one right?

My money is decidedly on Khadaffi and the people in Gaza making those Internet-based phone calls to get Americans to vote for “The One.”

Take a good, hard look at who Barack Obama has advising him on the Middle East. There is Zbigniew Brzezinski, Jimmy Carter’s National Security Adviser, a man whose antipathy toward Israel is almost legendary. There is Robert Malley, whose father was devoted to the destruction of Israel, and the man who created the fiction, widely embraced on the left, that it was Ehud Barack, and not Yassir Arafat, who torpedoed the Camp David peace negotiations. In Malley’s case, the apple appears to have not fallen far from the tree. Outrage over Malley’s direct contacts with Hamas finally proved too controversial for Obama, as he was courting Florida’s Jewish community. After denying Malley’s role in the campaign, Obama sacked him from the role he did not have, Malley’s relationship with Obama goes back to their law school days at Harvard.

And, of course, there is Rashid Khalidi, the Palestinian professor whom Barack Obama credits with opening his own eyes on the Middle East, a man who has intellectually justified terrorism against Israelis.

On October 29, CNN reporter Campbell Brown gave us a rendition of the Obama-Khalidi relationship so removed from reality that it was a new low point even for the network whose Baghdad office imposed an unprecedented self-censorship in not reporting Saddam Hussein’s crimes against humanity.

As has widely been reported Obama was present at a send-off dinner for Khalidi as he was leaving the University of Chicago to be installed in the Edward Said Chair of Middle East Studies at Columbia. At this dinner, a number of scurrilous attacks on Israel and America were made. Did Obama express indignation and leave? Did Obama actively participate in those outbursts? What did he do?

It now appears that there is a video tape of the event in possession of the Los Angeles Times, but the Times is withholding the tape.

CNN not only turned Khalidi into a mild mannered intellectual, but embraced the Los Angeles Times’ rationale for withholding the tape. Campbell Brown doesn’t even blanch while reading the teleprompter. After all, real journalists risk life and limb to report the news. News organizations often skirt, if not violate, journalistic ethics just to get a story, as in obtaining the purloined medical records of Vice Presidential Candidate Thomas Eagleton. When it comes to a choice between reporting the news and possibly jeopardizing national security, news organizations have erred on the side of reporting the news.

So, to see one news organization justifying the withholding of the news by another is not only a rare event, it is an unprecedented event. And it begs the question, what is on the tape that is so damning to the Obama candidacy?

Because we all know that if Rashid Khalidi was shown to be the mild-mannered intellectual CNN portrays him as and if the celebratory event contained none of the outbursts that it is otherwise reported to have, the Times would not only have splashed the story across the front page, but Campbell Brown wouldn’t be reading a teleprompter justifying withholding of news, we’d be watching the tape.

My bet is that the real Barack Obama is the guy who besmeared his senatorial office by involving himself in the domestic affairs of Kenya while campaigning for his genocidal cousin Raila Odinga, a man who promised to bring Sharia to Kenya. Refuses to release tape of Obama celebrating a terrorist.

Yesterday the American Thinker published an article I wrote about how the political left in America is keeping the issue of racism alive for political purposes. In the piece I mentioned that it is a legitimate question to ask Barack Obama about his "associations with domestic terrorists, vile anti-Semites, and ACORN." Even though many of Obama's advisers are anti-Israel and in my opinion anti-Semitic, the example I linked to make my point was Columbia Professor and PLO adviser Rashid Khalidi.

My article by no means is the first piece to expose this relationship, far from it. In fact I have written about this Jew-hater on numerous occasions in the past, but other columnists and reporters have been writing about Obama and Khalidi before me. My point being that when a candidate for President has a well-documented relationship with an advocate for the destruction of a U.S. ally and a member of the United Nothings, I mean Nations, the media, not just the opposition have a responsibility to investigate the facts.

It has recently been revealed that the LA Times has a video of Obama attending an event honoring Khalidi. While knowledge of this celebration is not a secret, the fact that video footage exists is a recent development. In what can only be described as a blatant attempt to protect Obama, the newspaper is refusing to release the video.

The Tribune owned publication claims they have addressed the issue and brought it to the attention of the public, which is not true as you can see from the above links. What we do know is that when California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger(R) was heard on an audiotape referring to a Latina lawmaker as having “black blood mixed with Latino blood” equals hot – a fiery personality." Somehow that was newsworthy, but a videotape that shows the probable next President of the United States partying with anti-Semites who are allegedly openly hostile toward Israel and Jews isn't an important news story.

The truth is the LA Times has been in the bag for Obama and will do whatever they can to help him become the next President of the United States. Releasing a video that many believe shows Obama and his wife celebrating, while vile anti-Jewish chanting and anti-Israel rhetoric is being shouted, could turn this campaign completely around.

The majority of Americans are pro-Israel. Jewish voters and Evangelical Christians consider supporting Israel a key issue when they cast their ballot. Obama already has trust issues amongst many Jewish voters, but the majority will still vote for him on Tuesday. Obama's doesn't need to anger the significant Jewish vote in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia turning on him and swinging the election toward McCain in battleground states.

Obama's worst nightmare isn't angering Jews, but Independents and Blue Dog Democrats who believe Islamic-extremism threatens America. A video of him partying with supporters of America's enemies would destroy his campaign overnight.

That is what the LA Times and the main stream media are going to prevent.

I'll never forget watching Senator Barack Obama give his Democratic presidential nomination acceptance speech in front of 80,000 screaming fans at Mile High Stadium in Denver. "This is an historic moment in American history," I told my wife. She was still disgusted that Hillary Clinton didn't get the nomination, but understood exactly what I meant.

Regardless of politics, the fact that an African American had received a major Party nomination to be President of the United States speaks volumes about how far this country has come since the days of the Civil Rights Movement. No one could argue this wasn't a proud moment for our country.

As America witnesses the closing of the racial divide, some people refuse to believe that the attitudes that gave us the Ku Klux Klan and Jim Crow are taking their final breath. This refusal doesn't stem from those who long for the days of segregation, it comes from the political left. In other words the people who claim to be the champions of diversity are doing everything they can to make sure the appearance of racism is still alive and well.

Governor Blagojevich's approval rating at 13%

Is it possible that any politician in America can be disliked more than President Bush or be despised as much as the congress of the United States? The answer is yes.

Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has a 13% approval rating according to a recent poll conducted by the Chicago Tribune. In nearly 3 decades of political polls, the Tribune claims that no politician has had an approval rating lower than the Democratic Governor has. Making matters worse, less than 10% want to see him re-elected.

It's not surprising that an overwhelming majority of Illinois residents are disgusted with Blagojevich. When he ran for the office in 2002, his platform was to rid the state of corruption. At the time Illinois was recovering from a four-year term of George Ryan (R), who is now a guest of the state, residing at the Federal Correctional Institution in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Today the joke in Illinois is that Blagojevich will one day be Ryan's cellmate. It's also very easy to believe such as scenario since he has been under countless federal investigations. As America has become familiar with the name Tony Rezko during the current presidential race. It was Blagojevich who allegedly received the most benefit from his relationship with the recently convicted-felon. That is saying a lot since Obama received a sweetheart of a deal when purchasing his family home with Rezko's "help."

The timing of the Blagojevich poll is interesting. In Chicago it is widely believed that Rezko is very frightened of going to prison and is singing like a bird to reach a deal that will curtail his jail-time. The belief is that he is producing the goods the feds need to have a slam-dunk case against Blagojevich. Only time will tell if that is the case.

Corruption aside, Blagojevich has turned Illinois into an economic cesspool. When he ran for re-election in 2006 his budget could only be described as politically motivated. Fearing at the time a primary challenger and low approval ratings even then, he came up with a populist plan that sounded like it was Christmas in Illinois. Over 1 billion dollars in new spending would have devastating consequences for a state that was already well on its way to be in a financial crisis similar to California. Two years later the devastation is upon us. Making matters worse is that his Democrat comrades in Chicago and Cook County have raised every non-payroll tax and fee imaginable, forcing even harder times on the citizens, especially the poor.

What America should closely examine is that Illinois is a microcosm of the country. Most of the state is rural and conservative, but a concentrated majority of the population resides in the Northeast part of the state that grants the Democrats control. In other words, just like the United States, most of the map is red, while a small concentration is blue and denser in population.

Democrats especially in Illinois don't like to admit that Barack Obama cut his political teeth from the same mold as Blagojevich. Does that mean he is the same as Blagojevich? No, but it can't be ignored that both men have very similar political views and ideas, which come from a political machine mindset that has devastated this state and destroyed Cook County.

If Obama and Blagojevich's friends are willing to raise the sales tax to over 10%, hurting the poor and middle class, why should anyone believe that Obama wouldn't hesitate to implement similar policies as President? Obama supporters will argue that you can't blame him for what other Democrats have done and that is valid point. What they conveniently forget is that his friends who made these harmful decisions didn't do so to be mean or deliberately hurt the poor, their decisions where based on a shared philosophy that bigger government is better and politicians should have the money not the people because they can do a better job with it than you.

That is what Blagojevich, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, County Board President Todd Stroger and the Democratic machine in Illinois believe and live by as their governing philosophy. That is why the Land of Lincoln has become the Peoples Republic of Illinois. Obama has already demonstrated these beliefs as senator. Now he wants to turn the United States of America into the State of Illinois.

Imagine how bad things must be in America for President Obama to have a 13% approval rating. That's called a nightmare.

How hard is it for Democrats to realize that when you raise taxes you decrease the revenue government takes in? How hard is it to understand that when people have less money or items cost more, purchasing power decreases and the end result is that everyone loses?

As we listen to Barack Obama this past election cycle or Nancy Pelosi most of this decade, the fundamental principles of the Democrat Party that high taxes are good has never changed despite the facts. In the belly of the beast were Obama learned his political skills, Chicago, the Cook County Democratic Machine once again has proven the negative affects of increasing taxes.

I can still picture Cook County Board President Todd Stroger high fiving his fellow Democrats as the Board increased the county sales tax a full percent, making Chicago the city with the highest sales tax in the nation at 10.25%. Last week it was revealed by the Illinois Department of Revenue, the first month after the increase was implemented; Cook County saw revenue decrease nearly 12%.

It's hard for your brilliant blogger not to laugh at these facts and of course scream from the highest mountaintop, I told you so! Making matters worse or more comical depending on your perspective, Stroger and his board lackeys recently passed a measure approving a nearly 4 billion dollar bond issue and to borrow nearly 750 million dollars to make county "repairs."

While yours truly does live in the Peoples Republic of Cook County, I have been mostly unaffected by such government incompetence. I reside close enough to the border with Lake County that Mr. Stroger’s actions have opened my eyes to the benefits of taking my purchasing power a half mile north. I guess I should even thank Todd for waking me up to the endless money-saving opportunities a few minutes north of my home. Thank you Todd.

As the Illinois Department of Revenue report shows, I'm not the only one taking full advantage of the neighboring counties. Making the future even more bleak for Stroger and the Democrats are lowering gas prices. Since gas taxes on the state and local level are determined by the sales tax percentage. Stroger and his cronies collect less money when gas is $3.25 a gallon instead of $4.50. Did I forget to mention that people might also be more open to the idea of driving a few extra miles to another county where gas is cheaper? When they get to Lake or Dupage County they will learn that they may save 25 to 60 cents a gallon and realize taking their money outside Cook County is a no-brainer.

While it important to honor every man and woman who has served our country, especially during wartime, it is just as important not to exploit these brave souls when they come back to us physically and mentally challenged. Unfortunately Democrat candidate for congress, Dan Seals has decided to use a disturbed veteran in his quest to unseat rep. Mark Kirk (R) in Illinois tenth congressional race.

This past June the Peoria Star Journal did a story on Caleb Davis whom spent 5 months in Iraq as an Army diver. Davis was sitting at a table in a Peoria library with books, fliers and DVDs supporting conspiracy theories about the 9/11 attacks.

While Davis has every right and even more than most Americans to disagree with the war in Iraq, the fact that he would promote the idea that the United States murdered over 3,000 of her own citizens can only be described as insane. The fact that he promotes an organization that believes Israel may have been involved in the 9/11 attacks should be of special interest to residents of the 10th congressional district, which has a significant Jewish population.

Kirk sent Seals a letter stating, "I am disappointed that you would center your campaign on a spokesman who believes the U.S. government murdered nearly 3,000 of its own citizens." The Seals campaign doesn't see anything wrong with the commercial and plans to keep running it.

Rev. Jackson claims Obama will end Zionist control

Jesse Jackson doesn't like Jews. That is no surprise to anyone who has followed his career for the past thirty years. The exception may be the North Shore (Chicago suburbs) Jewish Liberals who blindly support Jackson because he wears a Democrat label and their own self-guilt and sometimes self-hate excuses black anti-Semitism. For the rest of us of sound mind, we know the truth about one of Americas most famous anti-Semites.

This past weekend Jackson addressed the World Policy Forum in Evian, France. He discussed the changes Barack Obama will bring to America as well to the world regarding U.S. foreign policy. In typical Jackson style, the reverend blamed America for the ills of the world saying America must "heal wounds" it has caused to other nations. He then built on his anti-America rhetoric by turning to his favorite targets the Jews and Israel.

As reported by the New York Post, Jackson claims that Barack Obama will bring important change to the Middle East, where "decades of putting Israel's interests first" would end. Jackson believes that, although "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.

In plain words, Jackson says Obama believes in hateful Jewish stereotypes of Zionist control of the U.S. Government.

News of Jackson's comments broke over 24 hours ago. Paulies Point decided not to immediately post on the subject because it would only be fair to give Barack Obama ample time to respond and condemn the comments.

Barack responded, but he didn't condemn

As expected Obama's campaign stated, "Rev. Jesse Jackson is not an adviser to the Obama campaign and is therefore in no position to interpret or share Barack Obama's views on Israel and foreign policy," Obama national security spokeswoman Wendy Morigi said in a statement."

The statement does reiterate the Obama campaign standard line that his commitment to Israel is "unshakeable." While I am pleased to read that, I'm deeply bothered that the comments came from a spokesman and not Obama himself. Knowing the resume of campaign manager David Axelrod, I would bet that Axelrod himself played firemen in putting out this flame.

As a writer and blogger I have been a concerned voice regarding Obama and Israel. I have stated numerous times that "no Jew in their right mind would every vote for Barack Obama." This incident has only depended my distrust.

If you look at the statement coming from the Obama camp, not once do they ask Jackson to apologize for his hateful remarks and that is exactly what they are.

The stereotypes of Zionist control have been a standard weapon anti-Semites have used to stir up hate and too often physical harm to the Jewish people. Not one word came from the Obama campaign actually condemning Jackson’s remarks or even denying his comments weren't true.

Claiming you’re committed to Israel is a very open-ended comment. Ever heard of Jimmy Carter?

Another great example of meaningless words is Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich. He has always said he is pro-Israel, but he practices his beliefs by condemning the Jewish State at every opportunity and by voting against resolutions supporting Israel's right to defend herself.

There is no denying that Obama has had a long relationship with Jackson. Both admit to it and in my mind that just means that Jackson can be added to a very long list of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic friends, advisers and spiritual leaders Obama has decided to surround himself with his entire adult life.

While it can't be denied that Obama has a pro-Israel voting record, he also has a silent voice when it comes to anti-Semitism stemming from the Democrat Party, especially the Black Caucus. His three years in office offers a very limited record to judge him on and his words may be friendly, but they are just that words.

His actions in hiring foreign policy advisers who include some of the most vehement anti-Israel voices in politics speaks louder than campaign rhetoric.

So once again I will say, "no Jew in their right mind would vote for Barack Obama."

Does McCain even want to win?
Bigger government the theme Tuesday night

When John Kerry ran against George Bush in 2004, it was hard to find actual Kerry supporters. People who voted for the Massachusetts senator didn't vote for him they voted against George Bush. While anti-Bush attitudes ran strong amongst liberals and many independents during the last election cycle, it wasn't enough to propel Kerry to a November victory. John McCain appears to have a similar problem and unless something drastically changes within the next month, McCain will suffer a similar fate.

When Tuesday evenings debate ended I was disgusted at what I had just witnessed. So many aspects of the 90 minutes pissed me off, It's hard to know exactly where to begin.

If I hear John McCain tell America one more time about his experience and reaching across the aisle to work with Russ Feingold and Ted Kennedy, I may need to shove a fork in my eye to dull the pain. Hey John, those are arguably the worst pieces of legislation you ever got passed. I'd shut up about that. Besides, conservatives and many independents don't need to be reminded that you have worked with Socialists on more than one occasion.

At a time when America is finally waking up to the fact that Sen. Obama lied about his relationship with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, why not hammer that home with the nationwide audience? America already has reservations about Obama's judgement about the surge in Iraq and his choice of spiritual leaders. Remind them that he enjoys the company of terrorists.

But no. McCain decides to tell the viewers of his new 300 billion dollar spending plan to buy up mortgages, so people can renegotiate their loans at current market value. Are you kidding me?

It's bad enough that Obama wants to spend an additional 800 billion dollars on big government programs. For some insane reason you want to compete with his lunacy.

So I find myself at a crossroads. No it isn't that I'm not sure who I should vote for on November 4Th, I will cast my vote for McCain. With all of McCain's faults and failures, Obama is worse times ten.

My original concern has never changed. No Jew in their right mind would ever vote for Obama. Barack and Michelle selected a church that is the heart and soul of black anti-Semitism in Chicago to worship and raise their two daughters. Obama has tapped an array of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic foreign policy advisers to educate him on foreign policy matters. So as a father and a Jew, no way can I vote for Obama.

As an ardent supporter of the free market and a strong believer in small, very limited and accountable government, no way can I even consider supporting Obama.

What concerns me is that I am also not voting for McCain. Sure, he will get my vote, but it's not because I want him in the Oval Office. It's that the idea of Obama as President keeps me up at night. The idea of McCain as President just reassures me that things won't get any worse.

I just don't know if they will get better.

Palin speaks the truth
States what the media has been unwilling to report

Over the weekend Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin said what everyone in the mainstream press knows, but is unwilling to report. "Our opponent is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who targeted their own country," Palin said in referring to Barack Obama.

The comment stems from Obama's relationship with Bill Ayers, a founding member of the Weather Underground, whose activities included a 1972 bombing of the Pentagon and the death of a San Francisco police officer in 1970. No one was ever charged with the killing, but during a Senate subcommittee hearing in 1974, FBI informant Larry Grathwohl, who infiltrated the group in 1969, tied Ayers to the murder. This is the same person whose home Barack Obama selected as the most appropriate place to launch his 1995 candidacy for the Illinois Senate.

Obama and his campaign claim that he doesn't have a personal relationship with Ayers and that he was only "a guy who lives in my neighborhood," and "not somebody who I exchange ideas with on a regular basis." I suppose Ayers is just a super nice guy who out of the goodness of his heart loaned Obama his home to launch is state senate campaign.

Journalist Stanley Kurtz, who the Obama campaign has tried discrediting by any means necessary, uncovered documents showing Obama and Ayers served on the board of directors together of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Claims by Obama that they are acquaintances in the neighborhood only prove that Obama is a liar. Damn right I said it. Obama is a liar!

Supporting Palin's claims is Obama's relationship with Rashid Khalidi. The Columbia University professor has been a vocal supporter of Palestinian suicide bombings against Israeli civilians and worked for the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) when the organization was classified as a terrorist group by the U.S. State Department.

Obama and Ayers served together as board directors for the Woods Fund which provided over $75,000 to the Arab American Action Network, or AAAN, for which Khalidi's wife, Mona, serves as president. Khalidi would return the favor by throwing Obama a fundraiser for his U.S. Senate campaign.

So once again is Palin right? Is the McCain campaign racist as some are reporting? The answers are obvious. Yes and No, respectively.

The real question is why isn't the media reporting it? Why won't Katie Couric or Charlie Gibson ask Obama about Ayers and Khalidi? Are they lazy? Do they not know? Or are they afraid to give the America people all the facts and let them make an educated decision?

Meanwhile, watch this week as the media paints Palin and the McCain campaign as dirty and mean-spirited. While their saviour Obamessiah, gets a free pass that ends in the Oval Office.

The Question McCain must ask
Forget politics, it's about right vs. evil

Remember Samantha Powers? She worked in Obama's senate office and was a top advisor to his campaign, forced to resign after she called Hillary Clinton a "monster." Powers is telling people she speaks with Obama numerous times a day and will have an important role in his administration. The Obama campaign has yet to deny this.

Samantha Power is an anti-Semite who has suggested that international forces take over the West Bank. She also has stated that all foreign aid sent to Israel be stopped and sent to the Palestinians. That's right. She wants the United States to give money to the Hamas controlled government who advocates genocide against the Jewish people and attacking the United States. That's called suicide and finishing the job Hitler started.

McCain must ask Obama to publicly condemn Powers and ask him to state for the record that she will have no role in his administration. I am hopeful he will do so at a press conference or better yet at a debate.

We all know the mainstream press won't ask Obama any tough questions.

Thursday evening was billed as a make or break night for GOP Veep pick Sarah Palin. After a questionable streak of interviews with mainstream media outlets, expectations were low for the Alaskan Governor. What Palin had going for her was a live television feed instead of the merciless network news editing rooms.

So how did she do and who won? Your brilliant blogger thought she did well and so did her rival sen. Joe Biden. Neither of them made any major mistakes or had any groundbreaking moments. Biden sounded like typical Joe. An encyclopedia of knowledge, smooth-talking and a politicians talent to stretch the truth. Palin came across as a person, not a politician. Her answers were shorter and not as detailed, but she spoke to the public, not down to them.

When the debate ended I looked at the event as a wash, maybe a slight victory for Palin. If the pundits are correct as well as the early polls and focus groups, Palin/McCain was the big winner.

So what did I miss? Maybe I didn't miss anything, but simply underestimated how sick and tired people are of bloviating politicians such as Biden. Granted the Hollywood and Saturday Night Live crowd enjoy laughing and putting down a mom who they perceive as a small town hick. They make fun of her accent, pregnant teenage daughter and despise the fact she can kill a moose from a hundred yards out. What they don't understand from their studios at Rockefeller Center is that she represents America, not the anti-family/anti-religion country they crave.

Over the next few days we will see a shift in the polls. Congress will pass the big government bail-out bill Friday, the market will respond (positively?) and not until after the election will the sh*t hit the fan.

With a month to go, it's a brand new game.

Offensive Comic campaigns for Obama
Jewish stereotypes and racisim used by Sarah Silverman

"If Barack Obama doesn't become the next President of the United States, I'm going to blame the Jews." Those are opening words of comedian Sarah Silverman's pro-Obama video produced by the Jewish Council for Education and Research and their campaign to elect Barack Obama titled The Great Schlep.

The video targets younger Jews with the goal of getting them to convince their parents and mostly grandparents residing in Florida to vote for Obama.

The video has more more flaws than the congressional bail-out plan. To call it offensive to Jews is an understatement and just because Silverman herself is Jewish doesn't make it less disturbing.

If you take Silverman at her word, Jewish senior citizens are racists. That's right! The same people who stood by Dr. Martin Luther King, marched in Selma and to a large degree financed the Civil Rights movement are now bigots.

She also contends that Jewish grandparents don't like Obama "because his name sounds Muslim." Sadly for ignorant Jews such as Silverman, this argument holds no water. I don't know one Jew that believes Obama is a Muslim. What I do know is that they don't trust a man who has spent the last twenty years under the spiritual guidance of a multitude of anti-Semitic pastors.

They also fear a candidate who has brought in every anti-Israel advisor he can find from the Jimmy Carter administration to advise him on foreign policy. Did I mention the fact that he has worked with people who deny Israels right to exist and no matter how he sugar-coats it, he believes in meeting the President of Iran without preconditions.

Hey Sarah, I doubt skin-color has anything to do with it.

Silverman and her Hollywood friends have every right to support and campaign for anyone they want. Its what makes America great. But as a Jew, don't you dare attack the generation of our people that came out of the ashes of the Holocaust to teach the world the lessons from the genocide that took place. These same "racists" fought for a Jewish homeland. Your ignorance of our history is disturbing.

Like every group of people you will have bigots, but as whole no community of senior citizens is more accepting of all people than Bubbe and Zeide. You may want to rationalize your ignorance by playing the race or religion card, but it's simply not true.

Obama will still get the majority of Jewish votes. In fact no Caucasian group will support Obama in higher numbers. What hopefully will happen is that he won't get 80 or 85% of the Jewish vote, he will have to settle for 60 or 65%. Hopefully that number will contribute to his defeat. Regardless you seem to believe that voting against him is based on hate. No Sarah, it's based on survival.

Senate Comrades Pass Bailout Plan
Markets open with no added confidence in the economy

75-24, that is the Yes/No vote on the Bailout Bill that the Senate passed Wednesday night, sending a clear message to the House of Representatives that they must also pass this legislation. 700 billion dollars the government doesn't have and will have to borrow from foreign banks will be allocated to supposedly fix a problem that the government, not the market, created in the first place. That's right. It's as if we hired John Wayne Gacy to stop Jeffrey Dahmer.

The best example of this madness is Congresswoman Maxine Waters of California. In 2004 the Democrat made a statement in defense of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that is a clear indictment of her incompetence. "We do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac and particularly Fannie Mae under the outstanding leadership of Frank Raines," Waters said. She made these remarks at a congressional hearing called to investigate the illegal bookkeeping practices of Mae and Mac.

Today during an interview on Fox News she blamed a lack of oversight and the lending practices of financial institutions for the current crisis. If Waters and fellow Democrats such as New York congressman Gregory Meeks (D), who told the chairman of that hearing he was "pissed off" that they were even having the forum, would have confronted their heavy financial contributor Frank Raines, we would without a doubt not be in the financial predicament we are in today.

Now we are suppose to trust these incompetents to solve the problem they created. How can they resolve anything if they refuse to take responsibility for putting us in this situation?

Don't get me wrong I believe something must be done, but it isn't the current pork-filled resolution that is being shoved down our throat.

You may be asking how bad is this bill? I'll put to you this way. In what is suppose be a "rescue bill," the senators from Oregon got a provision attached that repeals an excise tax on wooden arrows. What does that have to do with anything?

Also receiving beneficial treatment from this disturbing piece of legislation are Hollywood producers, racetrack owners and makers of rum in the Virgin Islands. Did I mention there are government demands on health insurance companies as well?

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has been talking about common sense approaches all week. Change the accounting rules of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act would have a dramatic affect immediately, giving the markets a huge confidence booster overnight. Gingrich is not the only one who believes the incompetence of Sarbanes-Oxley bears great responsibility in conjunction with the criminal activities of Frank Raines and the biggest culprit being the Community Reinvestment Act, which you have read about in the pages of Paulies Point.

So once again we are back at square one. Government caused the problem, refuses to admit it, lies about the free market and scares everyone with the help of their media cohorts that only they can save us.

I never knew "save us" means pave the path to Socialism and economic ruin.

Proponents of bigger government and Socialist economic policies such as Pelosi are responsible for the financial mess America faces. While there is no doubt that President Bush is a fiscal idiot and is part of the problem, it was the Clinton administration who shoved the Community Reinvestment Act down the throats of financial institutions, which is the main culprit of the current economic crisis.

Florida congressman Alcee Hastings has never been famous for having a high degree of character or intelligence. That is why recent comments he made before a Jewish audience in Florida was not surprising to those who are familiar with the impeached former federal judge.

Appearing at a panel discussion for the National Jewish Democratic Council, Hastings didn't try to persuade the audience to vote for Barack Obama, he decided to scare voters into voting against Sarah Palin. "Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks,” the congressman said.

Hastings comments are a perfect example of the depths the far-left will sink too to divide people and portray those they disagree with as monsters. The fact that an elected official would suggest that Sarah Palin could careless if Jews and Blacks were being harmed is incomprehensible. The harsh reality is that it was said and Rep. Hastings should be asked to resign by Speaker Pelosi and by Barack Obama.

Making matters worse, if that was possible, is that Tennessee congressman Steve Cohen (D), who is Jewish, stood by cheering along with a predominately Jewish audience, forgetting that he was the victim of an unspeakable anti-Semitic based primary campaign against him perpetuated by Black clergy in his district.

As a Jew I want to tell Alcee Hastings that I fear the Democratic Black Caucus, the Rev. Wright's, Jackson's, Sharpton's and African American leadership in America a thousand times more than a Christian woman from Alaska.

While Evangelicals, Catholics, Mormons and most Protestant denominations support Israel and stand by the Jewish community as they fight anti-Semitism, it's the Black Churches and Civil Rights leaders that blame Jews for their problems, side with Islamic extremists who attack Israeli civilians and I'm saddened to say "don’t care too much about what they do with Jews."

Jews such as my father held hands with Rosa Parks during a unity march in Ann Arbor, Michigan to show solidarity with Dr. King, while he marched side by side with Rabbis in Selma, Alabama. Dr. King was proud Zionist, today's African American leadership utilizes Jewish stereotypes to rally people and instill hate.

While I will always support and if necessary die for equality amongst blacks and whites, I will not bury my head in the sand as most Jewish Democrats and Liberals have done, while vile anti-Semitism grows in the African-American community.

Sir, don't point fingers and make unsubstantiate claims against Sarah Palin, while your own community is overflowing with hatred toward Jews. And you wonder why Jews don't trust Obama.

Jewish Democrats choose politics
Politics prove more important than human life

As the President of Iran arrived in New York to speak at the United Nations, the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations organized a rally to protest the man who routinely calls for the destruction of Israel.

Like all rallies of this magnitude, political leaders from both sides of the aisle were invited to show bi-partisan solidarity and a united front against the worlds leading advocate of terrorism as well as for the destruction of the Jewish State. Unfortunately for those interested in the survival of the Jewish State, Democrats choose partisan politics over the survival of the Jewish people.

Political leaders invited to the protest rally included Sen. Hillary Clinton (D) and Governor Sarah Palin (R). When word got out that Palin would be appearing at the same event as Clinton, the National Jewish Democratic Council as well as the ultra-leftwing "J" Street crowd began putting pressure on the organizers to disinvite Palin. They succeeded and are very proud of themselves. Before the Palin dissing, Clinton canceled her appearance claiming she was "blindsided" by Palin attending. A move that was undoubtedly orchestrated by the Obama campaign.

So instead of two powerful pro-Israel female voices speaking against the homicidal ambitions of Mahmoud Ahmadickhead, the rally had attendees, but lacked the muscle necessary to send a clear message. Meanwhile Ahmadickhead dines with the UN Secretary General at an event in his honor in New York City and Democratic Jews celebrate a political victory at the expense of their own survival.

As we wait for the government to come up with a bloated solution to the current economic crisis facing America which ironically government created. I want to remind my readers what government is and why every time they get involved the situation only gets worse.

The above definition can be found in the Merriam-Webster dictionary. While this definition may have been applicable a hundred years ago, today a more realistic and honest meaning of the word should be defined.

Driven by power and a superiority complex, they believe they can run individual lives better than the people themselves can.

Readers of Paulies Point learned a long time ago that I rarely comment on matters regarding pop-culture. Once NBC took Cheers off the air and Pearl Jam became more interested in promoting Al-Jezera than making music, I realized that news; sports and episodes of Family Guy would be the extent of my television viewing. However on Sunday night something happened that was so disturbing, so vile, it made me question if mankind should even exist.

I was flipping the channels, still cursing out my Chicago Bears for blowing another 4Th quarter lead, when I came upon a sight and sound which will haunt me to my dying day. Singer Josh Groban was using his beautiful vocals, a wonderful gift from God to sing television theme songs. What kind of a sick, twisted, deranged individual could have such a horrific idea?

The smart thing to do would have been for me to change the channel and watch the Dallas/Green Bay game. But no. I was unable to remove myself from the debacle that was unfolding on the television screen.

"Monday...Tuesday...Happy Days," came from voice of Groban. His operatic voice recited the words to 'Cops' and of course who will ever forget the cries of terror heard all over America as Groban went into Hip-Hop mode and rapped the lyrics to 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.' The worst moment may have been the realization that the theme song to 'Baywatch' had words. I could have sworn that song was an instrumental written to enhance the pleasure of watching Pamela Anderson run. Thanks for ruining that for me.

If Josh Groban doesn't murder his agent, I assure you my mother will. My father says she is still huddled in a corner clutching his debut CD crying "why Josh, why."

If there is anything that can be salvaged from a program that can only be described as a complete disaster, is the announcement that came from CIA Headquarters Monday morning.

It appears that our military has been trying to put together a video that is extremely horrifying to watch. While there has been success showing reruns of "The View" as well as anything featuring Keith Olbermann, terrorists held at Guantanamo Bay have built up a tolerance to those media spectacles. Military experts believe there is no way that a prisoner would be able to handle more than a few minutes of this year's Emmy Awards and will happily hand over crucial information that will keep America safe in exchange for turning the TV off.

I'm sure Hollywood will be happy to learn they have contributed greatly to fighting the war on terror and creating a valuable tool to be used as a torture device.

Could the week have been any dumber?

Cafferty, Biden, Hillary, Hollywood, Obama, Oy Vay!

As I sit down to write this edition of Paulies Point; I'm trying to remember the last time such an abundance of stupidity had engulfed media headlines and editorial pages in the same week. At first I considered the week of the Democratic National Convention. Then I realized that the elitist rhetoric stemming from the podiums in Denver was amateur hour compared to what we have experienced this week.

Last week had its moments, especially after the media tried using the surprisingly mean-spirited Charlie Gibson interview of Sarah Palin against her. As Charles Krauthammer reminded us, Gibson and nobody else knows what the Bush Doctrine is. He should know he coined the phrase over seven years. Nope, not even last week's partisan ignorance of Gibson and other leftist media outlets salivating at their "gotcha" moment with Palin was more ridiculous than what developed over the past seven days.

Without hesitation lets start with CNN commentator Jack Cafferty. According to J.C. if you don't support Barack Obama you must be a racist. The fact that Obama's Socialist views make Chairman Mao look like Milton Friedman is of no consequence to Cafferty. Voting against increased taxes, bigger government and weakening our military is not a logical reason to not support the candidate of "change," even if the change is for the worse. It must be Obama's skin color not the fact that he is the Second Coming of Jimmy Carter.

Democratic Veep Sen. Joe Biden believes that paying more taxes is the "patriotic thing to do." To be fair, plagiarist Joe is referring to Americans making over $250,000 a year. What Biden and his economic ignorance forgets is that tax increases help no one, nodda, nobody. When wealthy people as well as the most Americans have their taxes cut, Uncle Sam collects more tax revenue because consumer-buying power increases.

The Obama tax plan for lack of a better word will rape small businesses currently struggling to meet payrolls and insurance premiums during tough times. If their taxes go up jobs go away and that is a fact. So if putting small businesses out of business and causing Americans to loose their job is patriotic, Obama/Biden is the way to go.

If you check my Blog from earlier this week, you will see that I have already tackled two of this past weeks most pathetic events. Both courtesy of Barack Obama. His Hollywood fundraiser that brought it over 9 million dollars for his campaign, while millions of people in Texas are in dire straits due to hurricane Ike. And who could forget his Socialist rant in Golden Colorado confirming he knows as much about economics as your brilliant blogger can speak Mandarin.

Maybe the most despicable event of the week hasn't officially taken place as it is scheduled for Monday. Stop Iran Now has planned a rally across the from the United Nations building to protest the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who will be addressing the UN.

Everyone is familiar with this nutjob's desire to finish the job Hitler started. His disdain for Jews as well as America, gays, woman and other minorities is legendary throughout the world. So it was appropriate for the organizers to invite prominent humanitarians and political leaders to this event, especially people who represent and support just ideas that are contrary to the hate rhetoric of Ahmadickhead.

Invited to the protest were hometown Democrat Sen. Hillary Clinton, GOP VP candidate Gov. Sarah Palin and Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel. All three individuals confirmed their appearance with the organizers, but after learning that Palin would be at the event, Clinton refused to attend claiming she was "blindsided.

"Her (Palin) attendance was news to us, and this was never billed to us as a partisan political event," said Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines. "Sen. Clinton will therefore not be attending."

"Partisan event!" What are you talking about? Let me get this correct. A Democrat and a Republican who support Israel, America, Women's equality and believe Gays shouldn't be tortured to death in public are appearing with a Nobel Peace Prize recipient is somehow a partisan event.

It was OK for McCain and Obama to remember 9/11 together in public. It was the right thing to do when McCain, Obama and Clinton came together for Darfur, however when it comes to speaking with a unified voice to support Israel that is a different story.

This situation stinks and the horrible stench is coming from the Obama campaign. Without a doubt they have decided to prioritize politics in the worst way. Instead of sending a clear unified message to a homicidal maniac, Obama has Hillary cancel her appearance fearing the appearance of her standing with Palin for a noble cause. Making matters even worse the organizers are without a doubt feeling political pressure from I wonder whom, therefore revoking the invitation of all politicians including Palin.

Maybe people who question my distrust of Obama are the dumbest of all.

It was hard not to throw heavy objects at my television Tuesday morning as I listened to Barack Obama address supporters in Golden, Colorado. During a week when Democrats are attempting to utilize Wall Street woes to their advantage, Obama delivered what can only be described as a Socialist rant that used the words "regulation" and "government" more often than a European Chancellor or President.

"New regulations must ensure that all financial institutions strengthen their capital requirements and that government bodies investigate potential conflicts of interest between ratings agencies and the institutions that they rate. Regulatory agencies also must be streamlined," Obama said or should I say comrade Obama.

Your brilliant blogger has been chided in the past by well-meaning readers who believe I use the term "Socialist" too often to describe Democrats. My response to them is usually "be happy I didn't call them Communists."

There is little doubt in the American body politic that Democrats, especially Barack Obama, are Socialists. Hey guys don't hide from who you are. If you believe that more regulation and government oversight and control is the answer, say it with pride.

What makes Obama's speech more frightening is that he demonstrates a clear incompetence when it comes to Economics. Very Jimmy Carter-like if you will. I refer to Obama as a Socialist, but I get the impression that he doesn't understand Free-Market ideas compared to Socialist policies. He just sees imperfections and believes government can manage the system as well as peoples lives better than individuals can.

As they say the proof is in the pudding. Obama is calling for more regulation, when in fact under President Bush regulations increased drastically. Government as always is the problem not the solution. Hey Barack! Ever heard of the Sarbanes-Oxley act? Maybe, but I guarantee he doesn't know the first thing about it.

Obama is doing what politicians do best...react without understanding the facts and doing so in a knee-jerk manner. That is what Sarbanes-Oxley was and that is what Obama's current economic plan or should I say nightmare is.

Nobody in their right mind would deny that there is economic strife in America. High gas prices, slumping homes sales and unstable markets are legitimate reasons to be concern. However Democratic claims that this is the worst economy since the great depression can only be described as convenient in a political year. How quickly they forget their standard bearer Jimmy Carter and his double digit inflation, 21% Prime Rate and unemployment figures that make the current job market look like an employment buffet.

While I'm not very happy with John McCain's solutions to our current financial woes, at least he applies some common sense by refusing to raise taxes, increase oil drilling and believes the free-market is the ultimate answer. Besides with Steve Forbes bending his economic ear, I sleep better at night. With Obama I need to hide my money underneath my mattress so Uncle Sam doesn't steal it.

I'm a firm believer that people should spend their own hard-earned money anyway they see fit. What I do have a problem with is far-left elitists who cry that people can't be counted on to help the less fortunate and when a desperate situation emerges, they are the first ones to ignore those in need, spending obscene amounts of money just to feed their ego's as well as their faces.

$28,500! That is the cost per plate to attend a Beverly Hills fundraising dinner for Barack Obama's campaign. Featuring the no-longer pleasant vocals of an aging Barbara "voice no-longer like butter" Streisand and the biggest names in Hollywood, Obama will garner approximately 9 million dollars for his campaign war chest. I'm not sure, but I do believe it may be a cash bar.

Big ticket events such as these are not as rare as some may think. However there is something to be said for timing and priorities. As Obama and Babs Hob-Knob with the intellectually inept, millions of people, victims of hurricane Ike are desperate for food, water and electricity.

Crazy idea, hear me out Hollywood liberals. Take out your check book and cross-out the name Barack Obama and write in Feed the Children. For what you're giving Obama to help his cause of turning America into France, you could provide over 200,000 pounds of desperately needed supplies for your fellow human brings.

What about supporting the emergency personnel who are working around the clock to save lives, while their loved ones sacrifice without them as they tend to a cause greater than themselves. So put away the black tie and evening gowns, put on some comfy jeans and take your nearly 30 grand and go crazy at your nearest Wal-Mart. Buy clothes, shoes, toiletries, snack food, candy, hand sanitizer and ship those truck loads to the Harris County Communications Division. c/o 911 cares in Houston. Believe it or not, it's not just about you and Barack.

For those who believe the Free Market & Limited Government movement is dead, I'm happy to tell you that you're wrong.

Nobody can blame you for feeling that way. For nearly eight years the GOP has abandoned their core principle of limited government and today we bear witness to a Republican President willing to permit the federal government to bail out businesses that have failed with nobody but themselves to blame. So much for the Free Market.

As far as the Libertarian Party, which some believe was the last hope for lovers of liberty, the sad truth is while their core principles are similar to the GOP, they have become the Party of drug legalization and nothing more. Take it from me, not much gets accomplished when decisions are made around a bong and a burrito as big as your head.

Of course it goes without saying that the Democrats offer nothing to believers in capitalism and freedom. As Socialism becomes the Party theme, they plan to expand the government, raise taxes and curtail the free speech of those who don't want the United States to become France.

So maybe we should just give up and display posters of Che Guevara? Not so fast!

This past week I attended the State Policy Network (SPN) convention and Samsphere blogger forum in Scottsdale, Arizona. I found myself in the Presence of nearly 500 activists from Think Tanks, Action Tanks and Blog/Media sites sharing a common desire to make government accountable and transparent, while sharing a dedication to the free market and keeping government small.

In the past when I was in the company of so many enlightened individuals, it was always a friendly and fun environment, but there tended to be an aura of disappointment. Are our efforts doing any good? Is there any hope that we can overcome a public perception and media bias that promotes a bigger, incompetent government that causes increased hardship, steals our freedom and takes away our money and personal choices disguised as economic and social justice?

I am happy to say there is a new found hope and a highly charged movement that wants to take back America by promoting free market solutions, reducing the size of government, giving parents and children school choice, while making certain government is open and honest. These same crusaders are working hard to make certain the public can obtain the truth through alternative news and information sources, instead of relying on the bias reporting of the New York Times and NBC News.

Thanks to groups such as the Goldwater Institute, Americans for Prosperity, Sam Adams Alliance and so many like them that attended the SPN conference, an army of free market and limited government advocates have been set forth to bring the ideals of our founding fathers back into the mainstream of American life.

Bloggers and new media sources investigating, researching and writing about the truth, willing to report what the mainstream press ignores or covers up will sooner than later be the norm for John Q Public to obtain information regarding current events.

From a media perspective, the biggest news of the conference was the revelation that due to decreasing profits and downsizing, mainstream newspapers and broadcast news outlets "no longer are pushing for access to information as they once did." In other words they will no longer be doing their job at a time when keeping politicians honest has never been more crucial.

This reality check is not surprising and maybe beneficial in the long run. The mainstream media has failed to be fair and objective in their watchdog duties for at least a decade. They often place investigative resources into exposing those who don't support their leftist agenda, while turning a blind eye to those who promote their ideals.

Now it will be the obligation of the blogosphere and other alternative media groups to make open records and FOIA requests, keeping government transparent and politicians honest.

As I write this post, your brilliant blogger feels that a rejuvenated free market/limited government movement is upon us. With the future of my children in mind as well as their children, I plan to make certain lady liberty prevails. I hope you will join me.

Beginning of the end?

Obama falling to pieces
Polls show him down and sinking deeper

Having a bounce in the polls is expected for a Presidential candidate after their Party convention. In recent history Democrats such as Michael Dukakis, Al Gore and John Kerry saw heavy surges in the polls after their big events, only to loose on the first Tuesday in November. So deep concerns must have engulfed the Obama campaign when polls showed him receiving no bounce to four points at best.

The McCain campaign deserves credit for controlling the political conversation after Obama gave his Hollywood style speech. The media discussed his acceptance address for less than 24 hours and then it was time to add "change" to the campaign in the form of GOP Vice President candidate Sarah Palin.

Since Palin was introduced to America as well as the world, any traction Obama gained had dwindled. Since her speech at the Republican convention and McCain's the next day, the polls began favoring the Arizona senator. Today Obama and his running-mate, you know, whats his name the plagiarism dude, are down in every poll and there is no end to their free fall in sight.

Making matters worse for the Democratic ticket is their allies in the media are also falling from grace. Obama loyalists Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann have been dropped from anchoring live political events for MSNBC. Such a move is more symbolic than anything else. They are being replaced by another leftist David Gregory, but none of it matters as it appears nobody is watching MSNBC anyway except for the broadcasters family members.

Rolling Stone magazine and US Weekly publisher Jann Wenner has been outed for using his publications to promote Obama, while attacking Palin. While Wenner undoubtedly believed he could influence woman waiting in the grocery check out line with his negative cover story about Palin, his plans have backfired as the public overwhelmingly believes the media is treating the mother of five unfairly. Rule #1 never mistreat mom. Especially a mom with a special needs
child.

With seven weeks to go anything can happen. McCain may come across as too old, Biden may speak, Palin may have had nude pictures taken when she was younger and we may learn that Barack Obama has had additional relationships with clergy and activists who hate America as well as Jews. We just don't know.

What we do know is that even with the ouster of the MSNBC clowns the media will continue to be relentless in their attacks against McCain and Palin. In the meantime Biden needs to go into hiding as it appears without a doubt that he was a worthless choice for Obama. Word to the unwise. Don't pick a foreign policy guy who doesn't believe that Iran's Revolutionary Guard isn't a terrorist group. Bonehead! Finally we know that Obama will not debate McCain at town hall meetings, relying on teleprompters and time restricted canned answers during standard debates.

Substance vs. Superstar will continue to be the battle for the White House. However Obama doesn't have the star power he did a few months ago and his star is being out shined by the #2 on the GOP ticket. Who just happens to have more substance in her hair pins than Obama has in his entire head.

After watching Sarah Palin capture the hearts of Americans and energized the Republican base, John McCain was confident he made the right choice for a running mate. While the nation was still a buzz over "Saracuda", McCain still had to deliver his speech knowing full well that a less than adequate performance could kill the momentum change favoring the GOP.

If I had to use one word to describe McCain's speech that word would be "pride." Pride in America, pride in the military, pride in his fellow captives in Vietnam, pride in his family and pride in who he is. What he didn't show pride in was what had become of the Republican Party.

When House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told the Democratic convention that she was proud of the accomplishments made by the Democratic controlled congress, I couldn't help but yell back at the television, "what accomplishments?" There is no way that Pelosi is happy with congress and with a 9% approval rating either is America. However she doesn't have the integrity to admit failures, while John McCain could care less who he alienates in his own Party as he tells them they have failed the people who put them in office.

That level of honesty displayed by McCain is exactly what this country needs. Put policy aside for the moment and ask yourself when the last time you believed the President of the United States was being completely truthful? I thought so.

Don't get me wrong, your brilliant blogger believes President Bush is a man of strong character. However, I also believe he has trouble admitting when he is wrong or has made errors in judgement.

Most people don't believe President Bush and for certain President Bill Clinton were always honest with the American people. Even those who disagree with McCain on policy believe he is a man of his word.

As far as policy goes, your brilliant blogger loved the speech. What excited me the most? School Choice. McCain didn't just mention the idea in passing, he went into detail and did so in a manner that everyone can understand. Not once did he tone down his rhetoric as he attacked the teachers unions, who own the Democratic Party as well as special interests groups as a whole.

McCain addressed the need to control spending and to stop the growth of government. While this talk is the GOP standard since before Ronald Reagan, he didn't hide from the fact that his own Party has failed to live up to these fundamental principles. Paulies Point readers have heard me complain about the limited government failures of the Republican Party for years, it was nice to hear a prominent Republican confess to their mistakes.

While many in the media as well as the Democratic Party complain about McCain talking about his POW past, those people need to simply shut up. For what he went through in that Hell Hole, he earned the right to talk about it as much a he wants and everyone else needs to show their gratitude and listen.

After McCain's speech, America got a clear view inside the man's soul. To this day nobody knows what Barack Obama is about, except for punishing success and turning the United States into a European style Socialist nation. McCain made his speech a personal conversation with the country he loves and the people listened.

From the moment John McCain introduced Sarah Palin as his running mate, I was bombarded with questions about her positions regarding Israel. The only answer I had at first was one of trust. John McCain is a great friend of the Jewish people and he would certainly not choose a Vice President who would not be the same. However as great of a friend McCain may be to the State of Israel, there are so many important issues to consider and he of course wants to win the election. Selecting a VP is beyond one or two issues.

Still, I was very confident in the Arizona senator's judgement and even though the information is limited, Palin appears to be a very good friend of the Jewish people.

While there may be synagogues in New York and Chicago with membership lists larger than the entire Jewish population of Alaska, that may be all the more reason why her relationship with the states Jewish population may be so impressive.

"She's established a great relationship with the Jewish community over recent years, and has attended several of our Jewish cultural gala events," said Rabbi Yossi Greenberg of the Chabad emissary in Alaska.

As reported in the Jerusalem Connection: Palin has shown solidarity with Israel by signing a State of Alaska Resolution recognizing Israel's 60Th Anniversary and its relationship with Alaska. In the resolution, Governor Palin pointed to Alaska's special connection to Israel dating back to Alaska Airlines' participation in the rescue of 40,000 Yemenite Jews when it airlifted them from Yemen to Tel Aviv during 1948 and 1949. Drafted by members of the Alaska Legislation and heavily supported by Speaker of the House, Representative John Harris, Governor Palin signed the resolution in the presence of Alaska's Jewish community leaders this June.

Earlier this week Palin with Sen. Joe Lieberman at her side she met with AIPAC. "We had a good productive discussion on the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship, we were pleased that Gov. Palin expressed her deep, personal, and lifelong commitment to the safety and well-being of Israel," he said. "Like Sen. McCain, the vice presidential nominee understands and believes in the special friendship between the two democracies and would work to expand and deepen the strategic partnership in a McCain/Palin Administration," said AIPAC spokesman Josh Block.

While there is still much to learn about Palin on many fronts, I have no doubt that she will be a strong advocate for the Jewish State. Besides how can you doubt the sincerity of a governor who displays a small Israeli flag in her office? Palin does (7 min into video).

Rudy Passes and Sarah Scores
Palin displays grace, beauty and strength

Wednesday night will go down in history as one of the most memorable nights in political convention history. The evening made it's mark when former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani gave the keynote address. His speech was full of energy, humor and common sense. He made disgruntle Republicans begin to feel good about the Party again, while reminding people such as your brilliant blogger why he was my first choice during the GOP Primary.

America's mayor didn't mince words. Referring to Barack Obama as a "celebrity senator" who "never had to lead anybody in crisis." The most important comment he made was when he damned the opposition and the media for questioning if Sarah Palin should try being Vice President and a mother at the same time while "they never ask a man that question." Hillary supporters and Independent woman will remember that line every time the Obamedia rips Palin for being a working mom.

When Giuliani finished, it was clear that he had given the best speech of the convention and very possibly both conventions, especially compared to the Keynote sleep seminar delivered by Mark Warner in Denver. My concern was could Palin come close to performing as well as Rudy.

She did! Rudy passes and Sarah scored.

The look on MSNBC reporter Andrea Mitchell spoke volumes. The stunned angry look on her face was proof that this nobody from small town Alaska can not only mess with the big dogs, she could bitch-slap them into submission.

Palin showed that grace and beauty can be tough. She laid out why McCain should be President and why Barack Obama would be dangerous. However most important, she made viewers realize that she gets it and gets them because the Palin family are them. Speaking directly to middle America, she reminded America that Barack Obama looks down on them because of their values and beliefs. Obama and Democrats feel they are better than you. They feel they can do a better job running your life and raising your children.

It was obvious at the speeches conclusion that she hit not only a home run, but a grand slam. Fear and panic was blatant on the MSNBC set as Keith Olbermann was grabbing every mundane thought he could offer to cast doubt on the success of the night. Use of her family, a supposed criticism of community organizers, I'm surprised he didn't claim that you could hear her fart during the addressment.

Causing the most fear on the set was the harsh reality that their token had turned on them. Pat Buchanan is a bitter, non entity in the political world who hasn't said a positive thing about the GOP since his ass was kicked in the 1996 primary. After the speech he was tooting the Party line like it was 1984 and Reagan was up for re-election.

Palin and the GOP are not out of the woods, but then again they never will be when it comes to the press.

Thursday we will see the personal attacks and Inquisition targeting Sarah Palin and her family ramped up stronger than ever. If the media is going to have their Messiah in the White House, they better find a way to take her down. However what saves America from the deceptive practices of the mainstream press is that these elitist live in their own world with no real understanding of life between San Francisco and New York City.

That is why the Keith Olbermann's and Katie Couric's of the world have less influence than a pretty hockey mom from Alaska.

V.P. candidate will be one 'hot' grandma
Bristol Palin pregnant and doing right by her baby

Yesterday I exposed the cruel lies published by the Daily Kos, who claimed that GOP Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin was not the mother of new born baby Trig Palin. The Kos article said that Palin was covering for her oldest daughter Bristol who they claimed was the actual mother of the Downs Syndrome child.

With these vicious lies circulating on the Internet as well as in the press, the Palin family decided to go public with a very personal matter. Bristol is in fact five months pregnant and will be having the baby as well as getting married. While it's always disappointing when a 17-year old gets pregnant, the fact is that we all make mistakes and it's how we deal with the unforeseen situation that determines if a wrong can be made right. With her family supporting her 100%, Bristol will be able to take what ignorant people call a tragedy and turn it into a true blessing.

The real story isn't that a 17-year old girl is pregnant or that her mother is striving to be the first woman Vice President. What we should be talking about is how a leftist rag published lies about a teenage girl, which forced her family to address these allegations. While it is true that her daughter is currently pregnant, she is not the mother of Trig and Gov. Palin did not engage in a cover-up to protect her family as the Daily Kos suggested.

What may be the most intriguing aspect of this story is that Sen. McCain knew that Bristol was pregnant. With that in mind he saw something in Gov. Palin that made him decide that she was still the best candidate for the job, knowing full well that Bristol's pregnancy would become an issue. Once again during his life, McCain stared at a problem head on instead of taking the easy road and running away.

While the pro-Obama media is hard at work digging up every potential negative they can find on Sarah Palin and her family, I am convinced more than ever that she will be a great Vice President. What we are learning about Palin is that her life is not perfect. Like regular Americans the Palin family struggles with their own demons and challenges. However it's how one deals with adversity that shows ones true character and ability to overcome difficult situations. The Palin family led by the Governor herself have set an example for all to follow.

Paulies Point would like to congratulate Gov. Palin and her husband on soon becoming grandparents and wish Bristol a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery of her first child. While the Godless family bashers on the far-left are telling you your life is over, the beautiful reality is that it's just beginning and will only get better.

Showdown: Gustav vs. Jindal
New Governor has learned from past failures

As you read this edition of Paulies Point the city of New Orleans and many Gulf Shore communities have become ghost towns. By now hurricane Gustav has hit the Gulf Coast or is about to slam into the shoreline with the wrath of a category 3 or possibly 4 storm. While comparisons with Katrina have been made to the lead up of this storm, the difference this time around is that Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) understands that the government must be proactive in dealing with the potential threat, while his predecessor Kathleen Blanco (D), allowed her disdain for New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin to interfere with her ability to work with the city during Katrina. Jindal will not allow the mistakes of the past rear it's ugly face again.

On Saturday morning the state of Louisiana began evacuating citizens of New Orleans as well as other nearby Parishes that were decimated by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.

Understanding the incompetence of government bureaucracy Gov. Jindal used his power to have the processing of evacuees break through the red tape, so not to delay evacuation efforts in what is a life and death situation. Apparently many shelters as well as transportation systems would not take evacuees until they were fully processed (identified).

"We said that's ridiculous," Jindal said. After "high-level intervention," those procedures were stopped. Evacuees were being processed either before they got on a bus or train, while they were traveling or after they arrived.

Jindal has displayed a tough side that is very uncharacteristic of the 37 year old Governor. "Law enforcement officials, "will not go door to door using force" to get residents to leave. Jindal warned, "If you choose to stay despite an evacuation order, you'll have limited resources. You can't call 911 and expect someone to help."

In other words; get out now, while you have the chance and the resources are being made available.

What you may also have noticed from this posting and all articles written about this in-progress natural disaster is that the state of Louisiana as well as the city of New Orleans under Mayor Ray Nagin are taking the bull by the horns without waiting for the federal government to intervene.

While it is true that FEMA has arrived to assist in the evacuation efforts and President Bush has made available all resources to the Gulf states, Gov. Jindal is displaying leadership that is rarely seen by elected officials. He also is working closely with Mayor Nagin, who himself deserves credit for learning from his own mistakes made in 2005, showing that a Democratic Mayor and Republican Governor can save lives when they work together.

To this day the media refuses to address the failures of former Governor Blanco who allowed her personal feelings to get in the way of saving lives. The media rather blame President Bush and federal government, who did make mistakes, but it was the incompetence of Blanco that was the true culprit of Katrina. Ever wonder why the other Gulf States, especially Mississippi didn't endure the same problems as New Orleans in 2005? Answer: A competent Governor (Haley Barbour) who was ready when the hurricanes struck.

Today that same Governor is keeping the people of Mississippi safe, while a different Governor, who has demonstrated a level of leadership and sound judgement desperately needed in Louisiana, will make sure that Gustav doesn't cause the same loss of life as Katrina.

God bless and protect the people of the Gulf states. May their leaders learn from the mistakes made during Katrina and Rita and use their new found wisdom to save lives.

Leftist hate and lies engulf the media

Two stories have recently surfaced that are so repulsive that even your brilliant blogger was shocked at how low Progressives would go to destroy a human being.

Bristol Palin is a 16 year-old high school student who was use to a limited spotlight being the daughter of Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin. However overnight she saw that shining light increase ten-fold as her mom became the Republican candidate for Vice President. While Bristol and her siblings knew that their family would receive national attention, nothing could prepare her for the left-wing smear campaign that unfolded.

This past April Gov. Palin gave birth to her 5Th child, Trig Paxson Van Palin. During her pregnancy Palin learned that her son had Downs Syndrome. While many would-be parents would have aborted the unborn child, she stood by her convictions and gave birth to her baby boy.

Such examples of character and moral clarity are hard to find on the left, so Progressives began a smear campaign to make the Veep choice appear as a liar and her teenage daughter look like a slut. The leftist mouthpiece the Daily Kos has published an article claiming that Trig is not Sarah's son, but actually belongs to her daughter Bristol.

The article is publishing photos of Gov. Palin during her pregnancy attempting to make the case that she doesn't look pregnant. However the photos show her in outfits that can easily hide a pregnant belly, especially for a woman who is in perfect shape. You can easily see that her face appears slightly fuller, indicating weight gain.

That same posting shows a family photo in which Bristol has what the article claims is a "baby bump" in a picture taken supposedly a month before the birth of Trig. Wrong! The photo in question was taken in March of 2006, but Trig was born in 2008. Miraculous pregnancy duration? I think not.

Also, if this absurd allegation had any merit. Don't you think that the Palin family, who would of had to have taken extraordinary measures to hide the pregnancy truth, would have a family photo taken? Come on. What the picture does show is a beautiful family that includes a stunning 16 year old girl who happens to not be a size 2.

Adding to the disturbing actions of the left is a blog post by radio talk-show and Fox News host Alan Colmes. On his blog "liberaland," who your brilliant blogger has proudly been a target of in the past, Colmes has the chutzpah to insinuate that Palin is at fault for her child's Downs Syndrome. "Did Palin Take Proper PreNatal Care?" is the title of Colmes post where even he sinks to a level that your brilliant blogger didn't think was possible.

Paulies Point demands that the Obama campaign and Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean denounce the Daily Kos for posting what can only be described as a horrific article. I also demand the same condemnation for Alan Colmes. I hope Mr. Colmes has the character to apologize to the Gov. Palin, her husband and their children , who are a beautiful family dealing with the joy of a new addition and the sadness of his illness.

70 pounds and counting
Paulie continues to slim down, forced to buy new clothes

Seven months to the day of my lapband surgery, your brilliant bloggers scale is registering a weight loss total of 70 pounds. At the same time my credit card bills show a spending increase due to my need to buy new clothes.

As the summer winds down it appears that my swimming regimen in addition to my change in eating habits has helped me continue a 10 pound per month weight loss pace. While it will not be possible to sustain such as pace for much longer, as well as not being in my best interest health wise, I am striving to reach the 100 pound mark by years end.

At the moment I am already a full 18 suit-coat sizes smaller than when I got married ten years ago this November. I am also a full eight inches smaller in the waist from when I had my surgery in February.

I will continue to update my readers on my weight loss mission as I believe it's important that people know that weight loss success stories do exist and that their is no shame in having some assistance through weight loss surgery, such as my lapband procedure.

McCain selects strong conservative and true reformer

Your brilliant blogger is very excited that John McCain has selected Alaska Governor and recent new mommy Sarah Palin as his choice for Vice President. Besides bringing youth and nice looks to the ticket, her record as an executive is second to none. As governor she has displayed superb fiscal discipline and as a wife and mother she leads by example of the importance of faith and family. She describes herself as a Hockey mom and political reformer.

If America wants change this 44 year old mother of 5 is as good as it gets.

The only "change" was the venue
Brilliant visuals, but same old same old speech

85,000 fans of Barack Obama experienced political history as they attended the acceptance speech of the first African American to be nominated for President of the United States by a major political Party. Every American should take pride in this historic moment in our nations history. Unfortunately for Obama the so-called candidate of "change" delivered a typical political speech that was not in sync with the extravaganza surrounding him.

As in every convention speech before him, Obama talked about a better America. However he didn't give any details on how he was going to improve our country. As the Associated Press reported after the speech, "instead of dwelling on specifics, he laced the crowning speech of his long campaign with the type of rhetorical flourishes that Republicans mock and the attacks on John McCain that Democrats cheer." Once again America is subjected to general statements, personal attacks and no solutions.

What has become a developing theme of the Obama campaign is his desire to raise taxes. While he claims he will lower the taxes of 95% of Americans, he already has suggested a plan to raise payroll taxes on All Americans courtesy of Social Security.

According to the Cato Institute "Barack Obama's policy would impose a 60-percent increase in lifetime Social Security payroll taxes for some young voters." What Obama also doesn't come clean about is that his plan to increase the taxes of households bringing in 250,000 a year or more, includes small businesses, which is the backbone of the American economy. Simply put, higher taxes on small business means less jobs and diminished growth.

Earlier this week, I warned my readers of a Socialist theme stemming from the Democratic convention and without a doubt your brilliant blogger was correct. In typical liberal fashion populist grievances were used to appeal to voters. Tax the rich, damn the oil companies, corporations are shipping your job overseas. As columnist David Harsanyi wrote, "Tax them more to ensure the entire corporation is shipped out."

As Democrats do at every turn, Obama preached education opportunities for all. He talked about his success was possible because he was able to receive a good education. He then went on to promise all Americans the same.

While nobody will argue with him the importance of education, he promised more of the same. Throw more money at the problem instead of increasing charter schools and offering parental choice. Satisfy the teachers union, while are children get dumber and less competitive in a global economy.

Obama did what every liberal has done since the candidacy of George McGovern in 1972. He promised America that government will solve your problems and even showed his true Socialist colors when he attacked the free "market" as a solution to the health care crisis.

Tonight's concert, I mean speech in Denver was surrounded by great music and stunning visuals. While Stevie Wonder sounded awesome as well as a Michael McDonald, the only thing Obama had in common with them was that they were all throwbacks to the past. Whether it's Stevie singing a hit song from 1972 or Obama giving a speech that contained the rhetoric from the same era, the only "change" America saw and heard was that instead of a typical convention setting we saw a politician be the lead character in a broadway musical.

There is a school of thought that Obama needed to make a generic speech. In a year when Republicans are up against the ropes, some believe that sounding like a typical Democrat was the right move. Of course only time will tell if the former candidate of "change" metamorphosing into Generic Democrat was the smart move.

Democrats putting America to sleep
Excitement and drama displayed by media not politicians

Readers of Paulies Point know that I have a less than favorable opinion about Democrats, but they also know that they will get an honest observation of all matters at any given time. So take me at my word when I tell you that after two days of "Partying" in Denver, the Democrats have wasted those two days.

If you don't believe me then believe Democrats themselves. Few would argue that when it comes to Democratic consultants and strategists nobody is better known than James Carville. During his regular stint on CNN Monday night, he said after the first evening of the convention, "If this party has a message it's done a hell of a job hiding it tonight, I promise you that."

After watching Michelle Obama Monday night and viewing the tribute to Ted Kennedy, it became clear that Democrats are playing more defense than offense. The first lady hopeful looked beautiful, spoke elegantly, but came across as a person desperate to repair her image instead of promoting her husband and the Democratic agenda. Her speech was quickly forgotten as her children stole the show and had to rescue their father who forgot what town he was in.

One mistake the Democrats made was their tribute to Ted Kennedy. Don't get me wrong, it's great that he is out of the hospital and appears to be doing well, but Kennedy doesn't have the positive image his late brothers have. In fact he has been the poster-child for liberalism for over three decades. It also must be noted that many Americans including your brilliant blogger found it tasteless to honor a man who's extreme incompetence or disturbingly selfish actions cost the life of a young woman named Mary Jo Kopechne in 1969. Time may heal all wounds, but it does not bring back the dead.

Night two was Hillary's night. Did she unify the Democratic Party? Only time will tell, but what was for certain was that her speech expressed support for Barack Obama in a very limited manner. While Democratic pundits will say that she proved to America that she is backing Obama, she only mentioned his name about ten times and geared her speech to promote herself, woman, offering limited praise for Barack.

If you are a fan of Hillary chances are you loved her speech and instead of being pumped up to support Obama, your even more angry she didn't get the nomination and furious she didn't receive serious consideration for Veep. Her outfit didn't help sooth sore feelings as she appeared in an orange pantsuit, which made her look like a Gitmo detainee. She probably felt that way, condemned to make a speech she didn't want to make. Unless you believe she just laid the ground work for 2012.

The most genuine speech of day two and maybe the entire convention so far was the rhetoric expressed by Ohio congressman Dennis Kucinich. A favorite of the Progressive movement, Kucinich blasted oil and insurance companies, speculators and war contractors. He went into what could only be described as Socialist tirade that probably sounded more appropriate in it's original German. Considering Kucinich's "blame the Jews" history, I found his speech very disturbing.

What has become obvious during the past two-days is the beating MSNBC is taking. I'm not talking just in the ratings, I'm referring to the in-fighting as well as the beating the cable network is taking from prominent media figures and politicians for their blatant pro-Obama bias that has defined the network.

Keith Olbermann who is about as objective and honest as the President of Iran when it comes to Israel, was caught dissing Joe Scarborough on an open microphone. Olbermann, whose viewership consist of his family, few friends and a buddy of mine in Indianapolis, is beyond being in the tank for Obama. His disdain for the GOP and anyone who disagrees with him has played a major role in the networks credibility dwindling down below John Edwards honoring his marriage vows.

In what has been a very boring two days in Denver has at least sparked some great media moments. However Dennis Kucinich salute to Pat Buchanan at the 1992 GOP convention, will hold a special place in the hearts of Progressives for decades to come.

The Ignorance of education

The Political exploitation of our children
Illinois politicians refuse to recognize education faults

Winnetka, Illinois is an upper-class suburb of Chicago that rests on the north shore of Lake Michigan. To it's south are the suburbs of Kenilworth and Wilmette, while to the west and north we have the towns of Northfield and Glencoe respectively. These communities feed into New Trier High School, a public institution that is supported by the property taxes paid by the residents of these affluent communities.

Due to the high property values of these villages, the Winnetka based high school operates with a higher per pupil budget than nearly every school in the country. For this reason, political leaders are targeting the funding advantage of this school compared to poorer communities as a rationale to raise state taxes and or redistribute wealth in order to provide more money for poorer communities. Unfortunately we have seen for over sixty years that more money for schools doesn't improve the quality education.

State sen. James Meeks (D) has been the leading proponent of raising taxes to increase school funding. He is currently organizing a boycott of the first day of school in Chicago to raise awareness of the so called funding inequalities. Meeks is asking students get on his caravan of buses that day and head north to New Trier to have children attempt to register for classes at the suburban high school.

Unfortunately for our children they are being used by politicians to put forward their agenda of raising taxes, while actual concerns of improving education is either secondary or too many elected officials are ignorant to the real culprit. Accountability and lack of school choice.

Your brilliant blogger has been demanding more accountability and transparency for teachers and education boards for decades. I also have been a vocal proponent of school choice since Steve Forbes opened my eyes to the concept in the mid 1990's. Allowing parents to decide how their children are educated is a no-brainer. Unfortunately too many politicians, especially Democrats don't believe parents should have a say in their kids education. They're indebted to the teachers union, which means the concept of teacher accountability and implementing education standards is simply unthinkable.

Colin Hitt, director of education policy for the Illinois Policy Institute, recently published an editorial in the Chicago Tribune, where he explains the great success charter schools have had in Chicago. Unfortunately the politicians who claim they care about our kids have placed a cap on the amount of charter schools that can exist in Chicago.

These schools receive less money than regular public schools in Chicago yet out-perform their counterparts, often getting better results than the suburban schools who spend more money per student. Hitt writes about what I have been saying for years, Charter schools work because " they're free from burdensome state regulations and union demands. Thus they can innovate—and excel. Charter schools cannot discriminate against students; they must take all comers, up to their capacity. This has proven a recipe for success in Chicago."

If Democrats such as Meeks, who is African American, really cares about the education of "black and brown kids" he will get out of the bed he has made with the teachers union and embrace the idea of school choice. However, when Meeks had an opportunity to provide inner-city kids with more charter school opportunities, he refused to support the legislation to lift the cap.

The sad truth is that Meeks is just another political opportunist who is more interested in sticking it to upper-middle class and wealthy white folks than improving education for minority children.

Since the days of the new-deal education spending has consistently increased in America, while the quality has dwindled. We are at a point where our children cannot compete with kids in nearly all other modernized nations. Yet we refuse to admit what the real problem is and instead just throw more money at education which makes the unions happy and are our children stupid.

The fact is that government cannot and should not be responsible for educating children. Parents with help from the free market, meaning competition and accountability are the answers to solving the education crisis in America. Unfortunately for our kids, the teachers union and the Democrats they own rather keep dumbing-down our children instead of offering school choice and a brighter future for our children.

Rendell rips media for Obama bias
“MSNBC was the official network of the Obama campaign"

He was a hardcore Hillary Clinton supporter and has been a leading figure in calling for her backers to support Barack Obama. However the recent Democratic primary has left a bad taste in the mouth of Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell (D).

His anger is not directed at Obama or his campaign. Rendell has a beef with the mainstream media outlets, especially NBC and MSNBC for the "embarassing" bias coverage Obama received during the primary.

"Ladies and gentleman, the coverage of Barack Obama was embarrassing," said Rendell. "MSNBC was the official network of the Obama campaign."

The anger displayed by Rendell is typical of many Clinton supporters. For two decades fans of Bill and Hillary took for granted the press downplaying Clinton scandals and to an extent covering up potential scandals involving Hillary. However with the former first lady no longer being the anointed one, replaced by Obamessiah, she got to experience what it's like to be a Republican. Ruthless unforgiving scrutiny, while your opponent gets a pass.

As Socialists...I mean Democrats convene in Denver this week, their pundits will spew the word "united" to describe the convention. However even Barack "the chosen one" Obama won't be able to heal the wounds of the most ardent Hillary supporters. They want someone to pay for their candidate not being the nominee as well as the veep choice. That is why McCain will get the vote of at least 20% of her supporters come November.

Convention theme: Socialism

My critics will chide me for the above paragraph "Socialist" reference. However listen closely to the words used at the convention. You'll hear non-stop Socialist code terms from "universal" to "economic justice." Corporate America such as oil companies and mortgage lenders will be demonized to the point that you'll think every CEO in America is a descendant of Adolph Hitler.

Government will have the answer to all your problems. Government must do this and provide that. The wealthy are to blame for the woes of the middle-class and the poor. Your problems aren't your fault, someone else is to blame. Elect us and we will right the wrongdoings that have been perpetuated against you.

Democrats don't believe in the pursuit of happiness, they believe it's owed to you by those who have achieved it. Because if you have it you undoubtedly screwed someone over to get it. Now we will deliver justice in the form of bigger government.

"It's Biden"
Career politician gets VP nod from Obama

Deleware Senator and two-time former Presidential candidate Joseph Biden will be Barack Obama's Vice Presidential nomination. Associated Press first reported and within a few minutes was confirmed by Fox News and CNN at approximately 11:45 pm this evening.

Biden is a fascinating choice for Obama. He will not be one of these guys that has no impact on the ticket. His selection will be a brilliant move or disastrous one, nothing in-between.

Obama has completely abandoned the "change" theme by selecting the Deleware senator. Biden has been serving in the Senate for over 35 years and can be described as the ultimate Washington insider. Biden ran for President twice. First in 1988 where he was forced to end his candidacy after it was learned that he plagiarized a speech by a British politician. It was then learned he was also guilty of plagiarism during his law school days. He also ran in the Democratic primary this past election season.

Biden does bring excellent foreign policy experience to the Obama ticket. However some of that experience may haunt the Illinois senator. Biden has been very complimentary of John McCain, who the Delaware senator has praised countless times over the years. Biden was an adamant supporter of going into Iraq and it's well documented that he called for the removal of Sadam Hussein when it was fashionable for Democrats to talk tough.

The far-left won't be happy with the choice. Independents will approve, but most important, the 20% of Hillary Clinton supporters planning to vote for McCain will not be swayed back by a Biden selection. That fact in conjunction with the hypocrisy factor of selecting one of the current elder statesman of Washington in the supposed campaign for "change," is why I believe this is a bad decision by Obama.

Fun fact: Drudge Report eats big bowl of crow. Reporting earlier that Evan Bayh of Indiana was the probable selection since they reported Obama/Bayh bumper stickers being printed. Niiice!

America has elections not anointed kings
McCain leads in polls, NBC and NY Times panic

A few months ago I was discussing politics with a friend of mine who believes an Obama Presidency is inevitable. After explaining to him how the electoral map favors McCain, he still believed the future was already set in stone.

"Don't you watch the news or read the newspapers," he told me. "They talk as if his victory is a forgone conclusion." I laughed and told him he was right. Sure they presume he will win in November because they want him to and they want to create the perception that he is President-in waiting Obama. However the average Americans vote counts the same as Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews.

This past week fear and panic could be found in most newsrooms in America. The latest Reuters/Zogby poll shows that McCain leads Obama by five points among likely voters. The electoral college map also has McCain ahead.

Is it conceivable that the Messiah image of Obama presented by the media is not fooling the public. Is it possible that voters realize that "change" is just a word, which can have negative consequences. Dare I say that an original thought, ideas and real substance may be necessary to win the Presidency. Say it ain't so Paulie, say it ain't so.

Barack Obama is a product of the Cook County Democratic machine. He comes from a world in which people don't actually run for office, they in fact are anointed by the political machine and either get named to fill a vacant seat or are given an easy pathway in the general election. Having to come up with real solutions and be held accountable to constituents doesn't exist in the Peoples Republic of Chicago.

This past week the media hit a new low when they felt the need to cover for Obama after his disastrous performance at the Saddleback Civil Forum on the Presidency. McCain gave clear precise answers to the questions asked by pastor Rick Warren, while Obama was often vague and appeared uncertain. Andrea Mitchell of the National Barack Channel suggested that McCain was "so well prepared," and that the Obama people are "putting out privately" that "McCain may not have been in the cone of silence and may have had some ability to overhear what the questions were to Obama." Of course major media outlets and the left-wing blogosphere jumped on this possibility like Bill Clinton on an intern.

Desperate...Desperate...Desperate.

The bottom line is that Obamessiah may be the chosen one for the Democratic Party, but he certainly is not anointed king of the United States. The people not the New York Times will determine our next President.

Jimmy Carter must be removed
Democrats to feature anti-Israel advocate at convention

A few years ago your brilliant blogger garnered some attention with my article Democratic Support Dwindling for the Jewish State. My concern at the time was that support for Israel was not as strong as it used to be among Democratic elected officials as well as voters who identify with the Party.

At the time I received praise and criticism by pro-Israel advocates. Many Democrats at the time were still in denial of the anti-Israel ideas growing within the Party. To this day they refuse to recognize that the Progressive movement, the most powerful element within the Party, is consumed with anti-Israel and too an extent anti-Semtic thinkers. However when former President Jimmy Carter released his anti-Israel book Palestine: Peace not Apartheid those who criticized me began singing a differen tune.

The name Jimmy Carter is synonymous with incompetence. His ignorance has been noteworthy since his Presidency, but it's his behavior toward Israel and comments about Jewish influence is why he remains a plague on the world stage. Besides his anti-Israel attitude, Carter has been a terrorist sympathizer. He has used his stature to legitimize murderers as freedom fighters and partners for peace. His travels to Syria in April to meet with Hamas leader Khaled Meshal was a triumphant moment for an organization that is dedicated to finishing the job Hitler started, not to mention responsible for killing hundreds of American citizens.

This week the Democratic National Committee announced their convention program, which includes Carter as a featured speaker Monday evening. This decision by Barack Obama and Howard Dean to include Carter in the convention is a slap in the face to the American Jewish community. Sen. Obama is not calming the fears of Jewish voters who are not convinced he will be a friend to the state of Israel.

This past May your brilliant blogger published an article explaining why an Obama Presidency would be "Jimmy Carter's second term." It is the similarities of the two men that I explore that also leads me to believe that Carter and his ideas will be welcomed with open arms by Obama. He has hired enough ex-Carter staffers and confidants to show that he believes in what Carter does and what he has accomplished. Unfortunately for Jews those accomplishments include strengthening Hamas and adding credibility to Jewish stereotypes of power and control. Now these ideas get to be front and center at the Democratic National Convention.

Paulies Point joins with the growing barage of pro-Israel voices who call on Sen Obama, Howard Dean and the rest of the Democratic leadership to remove Carter from the program. As Matt Brooks of the Republican Jewish Coalition said, "The hand that shook Khaled Meshal's should not be allowed to rise in support of Senator Obama's candidacy for president."

Mr. Obama don't let your nomination be tainted by a man who has blood on his hand and hate in his heart.

Intellectually and Physically Challenged?
Can we please just say retarded, crippled or disabled!

My name is Paul Miller and I am a cripple! Yes, I said it. Your brilliant blogger is announcing to the world that he is a cripple. I have one arm. My years of guitar lessons turned out to be a waste of money the day a surgical oncologist amputated my right arm. My dreams of playing first base for the White Sox also went to Hell on that same day. So I am now suppose to allow this obvious disability control my life? Hell no! Am I a victim? No chance! Was I dealt a bad hand? Sure, but I asked the dealer to hit me several times and I came up with Black-Jack in life.

Yesterday I was watching one of my all time favorite movies, The Usual Suspects. In the film the words cripple and gimp are used often in reference to a character who has a deformity in his left arm and left leg. Am I offended? No! Why would or should I be. The person was crippled (until the ending) and even though gimp is a negative term, the use of it was necessary to expose personality traits of certain characters. So once again, how can I or anyone with a disability be offended?

Unfortunately there are people who make a living at being offended. Sometimes they are not a member of the group of individuals that was supposedly insulted, but they usually have a list of victims who they can prop up in front of a camera or microphone to make their case.

Recently the movie 'Tropic Thunder' hit the theaters and it's use of the word "retard" is apparently offensive. While the movie uses the term to poke fun at actors who believe they are prima donna's, not at people with mental disabilities, advocacy groups for people suffering from mental retardation are crying foul.

Without a doubt calling a person a "retard" is offensive. However simply saying the word, especially in a fictional situation that does not poke fun at mentally disabled people is harmless.

Intellectual disabilities, intellectually challenged, intellectually disabled, mentally challenged. All of these phrases are politically correct, but even though the word retarded means the same thing, the negative connotations associated with the word now make it off limits to be used by polite society.

What the f**k people! Are we now offended at simply saying a word? What ever happen to context? What about simple common sense?

In a recent interview with Good Morning America, Special Olympics Chairman Timothy Shriver talks about the offensive use of the word in the movie. In the same story by GMA they show the scene that is stirring the controversy. You be the judge.

Mr. Shriver, who represents an organization that does great work and who your brilliant blogger has raised money for, does a terrible disservice for their cause. What is truly offensive is how Special Olympics athlete Loretta Claiborne is used by Shriver as puppet to legitimize his complaint.

One of the funniest scenes in movie history is in Monty Pythons the Holy Grail. We all know the famous sword fight when Arthur (king of the Britons) cuts off the limbs of the Black Knight. As the Knight has his arm sliced off he refuses to concede defeat and calls the amputation a "scratch." King Arthur then cuts off the Knights other arm and he says it's "just a flesh wound."

Maybe I should be offended by this scene? I have no right arm. Isn't it horrible that a movie found humor in a man losing his arm and eventually all his limbs? Maybe my fellow cripples, oh wait, I mean physically challenged brethren should boycott Blockbuster stores and cable stations that provide or show this film.

Of course not. The Monty Python troupe wasn't making fun of the disabled they were laughing at ignorance, denial and so on.

Why can't we laugh anymore in America? Why do we have to look for things to be offensive? Why do we have to look for the hidden message or an alternative meaning or motive?

Can't funny just be funny?

World Shocker: China may be cheating
Media acting stunned over Olympic tradition

Did you know that Olympic gymnastic rules state that participants must be at least sixteen years old? Are you also aware that there has been speculation since before the games began that the Chinese women's team may have underage members? Say it ain't so Paulie, say it ain't so.

Is the media that bored? Have they forgotten that Russia recently invaded Georgia and the world is doing their finest impression of Neville Chamberlain? China breaking the rules has been a long standing olympic tradition. Do you remember the female swim team and the back acne they possessed during the games in Atlanta. Those "ladies" were on more steroids than the old East German women's track team. And those Chic's made Rocky Balboa look like a ballerina.

This past week Associated Press found a story by the Chinese government's news agency, Xinhua, in which they listed gymnast He Kexin as being 13. This of course would make her ineligible for the games. The International Olympic Committee claims that Kexin and two other very questionable Chinese youngsters on the gymnastic team, presented passports that show they are of proper age. Of course the Chinese government would never provide documents that would be inaccurate.

Does any of this really matter? To the USA female team that took the silver medal, while China took Gold, I'm sure it does. America has played by the rules as well as any country in Olympic history. With Basketball and Tennis being the exception, our athletes aren't professionals or within a few years of birth, sent off to a conditioning and training camp to eat, sleep and practice a particular sport purely for Olympic and world competition. That's what Communist nations do.

When China learned that AP got a hold of the news story, they took it off their website, but AP did make a copy when they originally found the story. This must be another shocking development. China unable to keep their deceptive practices from going public. Do I even have to go into the lip-singing cutey during the opening ceremony, while the real vocals came from a buck tooth child not attractive enough for the world stage according to China standards. Lets also remember those fake fireworks during the same ceremony.

I recall during my very early years, watching the 1980 Winter games in Lake Placid, New York. My memory escapes me, but I recall an event that the judges appeared to be scoring American Athletes unfair. I pressed my parents for a reason and my mother told me that other countries were jealous of us and they took their envy out on our athletes. Today media-reports have reported similar concerns, but once again this is nothing new.

I'm not saying that America should take dishonesty and bias lying down. However as far as the media goes, don't report these stories as they are some inconceivable development. Then again should we expect anything less?

It's bad enough that NBC and their second stringers on MSNBC are comparing the Russian invasion of Georgia to America's action in Iraq. Can we expect any more competence when it comes to broadcasting the Olympic games?

Chicago residents get out the Vaseline
Financial crisis predicted by your brilliant blogger

The city of Chicago received a financial bonus this year, while you and I were struggling to fill-up our gas tanks. With gas prices rising to record levels, the city was collecting a larger than expected amount of tax revenue from pump sales. With taxes raised to 10.25%, even with the recent slight decline in demand, the city and don't forget the state of Illinois, were receiving a nice tax perk.

Not so fast Ritchie and Rod. Your brilliant blogger warned Mayor Daley and his Democratic machine that raising sales tax in the county in addition to the city tax Chicago hits her citizens with, will only cause revenue collection to dwindle. Tax increases never bring government more money because consumers either spend less or take their credit cards across city and county lines. Welcome to the $420 million dollar budget crisis facing Chicago.

While I laugh at Mayor Daley and his corrupt cronies, I feel sadness for what will eventually turn out to be 1500-2000 job layoffs. Don't worry, I'm sure the patronage jobs will stay put. Only the important sectors will see the cuts.

Paulies Point readers have heard me say for years that people ultimately get the government they deserve. You vote the crooks and incompetents into office, knowing full well they are corrupt and wasteful, you deserve them and the hardship they bring you. Republicans for Obama?
Media making bid deal about old political tactic

It's one of the oldest political moves in the campaign 101 text book. Find people who identify with your opponent and feature them endorsing you. On Tuesday Barack Obama's media disciples paraded Republicans (?) former Iowa congressman Jim Leach and former Rhode Island Senator Lincoln Chafee, who both publicly endorsed Obama for President.

Neither endorsement was surprising. Both men lost their re-election bids in 2006 and harbor great resentment toward conservatives. When the term RINO (Republicans in name only), was first used, these two were the poster children. The irony in the case of Chafee is that there is a story about his father receiving a death bed promise from George Bush (41) to take care of his son, in the political sense. In 2006 the RNC busted their hump to help Chafee win his primary fight when real conservatives went after him. Your brilliant blogger was approached by the RNC to assist him on the ground in Rhode Island. I informed them that I had promised my wife we would have a flatulence contest that weekend.

If you do a web search you can find countless websites, blogs and groups titled Democrats for McCain and Republicans for Obama. To this day the term "Reagan Democrats" is common place. It refers to traditional Democrats who believe that their Party no longer fights for the working class. High taxes, affirmitive action, weak national security and liberal social ideas opened many traditional Roosevelt and Kennedy Democrats to Republican principles. Since the GOP themselves began abandoning Reagan ideas, most of those Democrats have become Independents or gone back to the Democratic Party.

My favorite group in "Libertarians for Obama." That makes as much sense as "Jews for a nuclear Iran" or "Vegetarians for Beef." Don't get me wrong, I understand their thinking. I consider myself to be much more Libertarian than I am a Republican, especially in a post Reagan era. Unfortunately the Libertarian movement is no different than the GOP or the Democratic Party, straying away from their core beliefs.

Libertarian principles primarily state that government's main purpose is to defend her citizens from harms way both foreign and domestic. After that government has an extremely limited role, which is to enforce public safety laws and see that contracts are abided by and property rights are not infringed upon. Today's Party refuses to allow the government to protect her citizens, claiming a civil liberties violations at every turn. The Party has also become Isolationist. Unable to comprehend that defending America often means doing so outside our borders. Notice the pattern and why they would like Obama.

The ideas of capitalism, free markets, free trade, as well as school, social security and religious choice has become a distant after-thought for too many self- described Libertarians. Their current movement is about ending the war in Iraq, eliminating the Patriot Act, discouraging faith and legalizing drugs. While I do support the latter in many instances, especially when it comes to decriminalization, I don't believe the right to smoke marijuana or crack is a priority in a post 9/11 world. As far as the Patriot Act, I can careless if some schmuck in Virginia knows my wife surf's the Internet for porn or shoes. I do want him to be able to prevent someone from blowing up a school bus that has my children on it.

Considering that Obama is without a shadow of a doubt a Socialist, which is the opposite of Libertarian, such identified voters supporting him goes against all logic. What you find more often than not is when people vote against the majority of their interests it's about one issue that is important to them that they cannot overlook. Revenge and anger are also prudent measures of a vote. Isn't that right former senator Chafee?

Can Gov. Kaine be that Stupid?
Praises Obama for non-existent cease fire

With Virginia believed to be a swing-state in November, both Presidential candidates are seriously considering prominent leaders from the "Old Dominion" state. Republican John McCain is interested in congressman Eric Cantor. Currently deputy minority whip, Cantor has been an up and coming star in GOP serving his 4Th term in the house. Cantor is believed to be on McCain's short list offering little or no negatives to a McCain/Cantor ticket.

On the other side of the aisle, Barack Obama is interested in first term Virginia governor Tim Kaine. Unlike Cantor, Kaine doesn't offer Obama any experience or skills to help him win the White House. He is popular, so without a doubt he could help Obama win the commonwealth.

In recent weeks, media pundits have brought up Kaine's lack of experience as an Obama liability. The governor appears to be taking matters into his own hands and campaigning for the #2 spot. Unfortunately for him his immediate and future prospects for the national scene may have dwindled away.

In an interview with Fox News, Kaine suggested that a cease-fire had been agreed upon because Obama publicly asked for one. The fact that McCain, Bush and half of Washington publicly asked for one had no bearing on the situation, but Obama's did. Making matters worse was at the time of his statement, the so called cease-fire was only words and Russia was still marching into and murdering Georgians. So if cease-fire for Obama and Kaine means continue killing people, than maybe the Virginia governor is correct.

These are scary times that need serious and dare I say experienced competent people. Assets that Obama and without a doubt Kaine do not possess. Obama pundits claim that judgement is more important than experience and I strongly agree. So if not supporting the surge in Iraq, off-shore drilling and desiring a sit down with the President of Iran without preconditions is a sign of good judgement, by all means vote Obama.

For my readers who don't have their head up their ass or don't get out of bed looking for the crack-pipe, what more needs to be said?

Edwards admits affair
A bad situation that may get worse

Former Democratic Vice Presidential nominee and candidate for President, Sen. John Edwards (D-NC), finally admitted to ABC news that he had an extra-marital affair in 2006 with a woman doing work for his campaign. Edwards has been denying charges of infidelity first addressed by the National Enquirer last December. Two weeks ago reports surfaced again after the tabloid reported that Edwards visited a woman and her child at a Beverly Hills hotel at 2:40 in the morning. Edwards was photographed at the hotel by the Enquirer who also insist that the child in question was fathered by Edwards.

"I started to believe that I was special and became increasingly egocentric and narcissistic," Edwards told ABC. I found this statement very interesting and was reminded of a song that may describe Edwards perfectly.

The song is "Creep," by the critically acclaimed alternative band Radiohead. "I don't care if it hurts, I want to have control, I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul. I want you to notice when I'm not around, you're so f**king special, I wish I was special...But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo. What the hell I'm doing here? I don't belong here."

Cheating on your spouse is bad enough. Cheating on the mother of your children who is battling Cancer is beyond words. Edwards is a creep who thought he was special, beyond the same moral conduct that you and I are expected to live by. As the song says you are creep and as far as being considered to lead this nation as President or the local County Coroner, you don't belong here.

When I first wrote about this story last month I didn't focus on the prospect of Edwards being an adulterer. If every congressman and senator who had inappropriate sexual relations left Washington, I'd bet that the remaining members in the senate would be in the single digits and as far as the House, they might be able to field a football team. I focused on the media cover-up.

At the time of my July 25Th posting it was believed that the National Enquirer was going to release incriminating photos of Edwards at anytime. I wrote "If the pictures are incriminating, how will CBS, MSNBC and the New York Times cover the story? Will they cover it all?" Anytime was earlier in the week and a deafening silence was heard. Your brilliant blogger was spot on in my prediction of the continued refusal to address the story.

Edwards probably felt that the Enquirer could of printed photos of him him fondling an eight-year old boy and he would get away with it. However with the Democratic convention coming up and his fellow Dems asking him to address the allegations or be shunned during the event, as well as the blogosphere brewing with more affair stories, he knew that no time would be better than the present. The fact that it was a Friday night interview he granted ABC Nightline and America was more tuned into the Olympics more than politics, the time for bad news was now.

Even though the mainstream press is now forced to report the story, they have already found creative ways to downplay it's relevance. "Mr. Edwards, who no longer holds public office," are the leading words in the NY Times article. MSNBC which is better known as the Messiah Serving National Barack Channel, is running an excuse piece of why media outlets didn't cover the story, blaming the ability to prove it.

Edwards has denied fathering the child stating a willingness to take a paternity test. That will never happen because it appears that his former mistress holds no malice against Edwards and would assist in keeping him in a positive light. She contends he is not the father and claims she knows who the father is and therefore no test is needed. Edwards will appear innocent due to his supposed willingness to take the test.

Right now I'm sure some Progressive whack-job at the Daily Kos or the Huffington Post and of course Media Matters (Yes I am aware your reading) is having a fit regarding the above paragraph. So to satisfy your concerns, do I think Edwards is the father? Yes! Why else would he be at the Beverly Hills hotel under the cover of darkness in the middle of the night to see a woman he ended an affair with in 2006? It wasn't for a game of Checkers or to get her recipe for Banana Bread. Daddy wanted to see his little girl.

At age 55, Edwards could of run for President until 2020. However he is done. No President or candidate for the White House will want to be in the same room with him. It's time to go back to ambulance chasing and hopefully being a supportive husband to a woman fighting for her life.

What's Hillary up too?
Name may be in convention vote

I would of love to be a fly on the wall when Barack Obama learned that Hillary Clinton is not ruling out having her name placed into nomination at the Democratic Convention at the end of this month.

While the mainstream press continues to claim that Obama has locked up the nomination, they forget that his delegate victory in the primaries and caucuses was marginal and that super delegates can change their mind.

Many of these delegates are asking themselves tough questions. Why doesn't Obama have a commanding or even any lead in the polls? Can he win in November? In a year that Dems should be sweeping the congressional races, why isn't Obama doing the same to John McCain?

Hillary and Bill hear these concerns and who knows what they are doing behind the scenes. There is little doubt that she would sell Chelsea's first born to be President, so selling out the Party is of no concern to her. Over the next few weeks Hillary will remind her fellow Dems that Jimmy Carter, Michael Dukakis and John Kerry had high single to double-digit leads going in and out of their conventions and still lost. Obama is in a statistical tie with McCain and is even losing among likely voters. How can he possibly win in November?

Bin Laden driver gets fair trial and lite sentence

Salim Hamdan claimed that he had nothing to do with terrorist operations of Al Qaeda and he only worked for Osama Bin Laden as a driver and bodyguard. Who happened to carry multiple missile launchers in the trunk of his car.

This past week he was found guilty by a military tribunal on 5 counts of supporting terrorism. He was also found not guilty on multiple counts of conspiracy to commit murder and attack on civilians. Proving once again that in the United States even the most despicable criminals receive a fair trial and must be convicted based on evidence not perception.

While the media outlets sympathetic to terrorism such as the BBC claim that the trial was "a dramatic snub to the Bush administration," the truth is that even though the government was disappointed in the short sentence of 5 1/2 years, the defendant received a fair trial and was sentenced by six independent minded military officers who made their decision independent of the prosecutions wishes. The White House said the trial was "fair," which will only be disputed by anti-American groups such as Amnesty International and the ACLU back home.

The trial was a victory for President Bush, America and the war on terrorism. Most important it was a victory for Freedom and Justice for the world to witness.

9-1-1 abuse defines nanny state

Law enforcement can only blame themselves

Most of us had a good laugh recently after hearing news reports about a man who called 9-1-1 after his local Subway restaurant forgot to put his sauce of choice on his sandwich. After reading the story or hearing the call on news broadcasts, rational people can't believe that a person would call 9-1-1 because of a fast food mistake. However have you ever called 9-1-1 for directions, traffic updates or to get the non-emergency number? What about to ask whats going on in your neighborhood after seeing police cars or fire trucks? If you have, you may be an idiot too!

For those who aren't aware, your brilliant blogger is a 9-1-1 dispatcher in his private life. Yes I do have unbelievable stories, but most of them are because the public too often utilizes 9-1-1 not for public safety or immediate emergency situations, but because they view 9-1-1 as an accessory to manage their daily lives.

"Hi, I need directions," a very common call I receive. "What's the weather outside?" or "My cable is out." These are just a small example of the ridiculous use of 9-1-1 your brilliant blogger experience's on a weekly basis. Granted I have never had a person call me over condiments, but waiting too long at a restaurant or a teenager angry that daddy won't give them an advance on their allowance, it happens.

In the new publication Schmuck Weekly, there are examples of 9-1-1 abuse that I can't describe on my blog due to decency standards I have set up for Paulies Point. They make the Subway restaurant seem more tolerable than what's published on the SW site.

Unfortunately nobody but law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve are responsible for this abuse. When we receive ridiculous requests, too often dispatchers fulfill them. I'm guilty of providing what can only be described as concierge or customer service to citizens calling 9-1-1. Sure I have told people to call the non-emergency number, but by no means can I chide someone for taken up emergency phone lines, even if it's entirely possible that a person having a heart-attack may not be able to get through. I would be disciplined or worse.

When we ignore abuse and refuse to fine or arrest people who use 9-1-1 in a manner that is blatant disorderly conduct, we in fact encourage this bad behavior. Some communities even educate citizens to call 9-1-1 for all police matters. Chicago and other major cities have activated a non-emergency system of dialing 3-1-1. This should be instituted nationwide. It may cater to the nanny state idea, but it serves to protect the public by opening up more emergency phone lines. Why should the majority be endangered by the ignorant and spoiled?

The 9-1-1 profession is also to blame. Professional organizations that should be promoting public safety are often teaching customer service. I recall taking a class last year in which we were privy to a call of a woman calling 9-1-1 because the Burger King had screwed up her order in the drive-thru and she wanted the police to watch them properly make the sandwich.

The instructor asked the attendees what was the appropriate response. Most dispatchers said no response and explain to the caller this was not a police matter. I agreed with that assessment and for the dispatcher to call the restaurant and make sure the caller wasn't causing a disturbance inside or outside the restaurant.

According to the so-called expert instructor, a unit must be sent to discuss the situation face to face with the complainant. I strongly disagree with using public safety personnel in this manner. Apparently I'm wrong. The ex-husband attempting to kill his former wife will have to have a less than adequate response because another officer is tied up dealing with the ketchup issues on a Whopper.

Obama is no headliner
Music fans came to hear music not Socialism

I recall the front page of the Chicago Sun Times this past May when Barack Obama was on the cover addressing a crowd as far as the eye can see. The rally took place in Portland and every newspaper in America as well as the major networks wrote puff pieces comparing him to a Rock stars drawing crowds of thousands. What the media failed to mention was that his speech was preceeded by real rock stars The Decemberists, a Portland-based band that has been the darling of music critics since their 2005 debut album Picaresque.

In the nearly 3 months since that staged event and media deception took place, the alternative press has broken the story and to counterpounch, the left-wing blogosphere has tried to dismiss their concerns. Your brilliant blogger got a big laugh when reading the Huffington Post try to downplay the popularity of the featured band.

"As the Decemberists are a modestly successful indie outfit, more apt to perform at venues such as the 1,200-person capacity 9:30 Club, it would be more accurate to suggest that the promise of an Obama rally is a great inducement to come see the Decemberists, rather than the reverse."

Nice try! The Decemberists are hugely popular aternative rock band. As I previously stated they are a favorite among critics, been featured in Rolling Stone and even made their mark on the "Colbert Report" on Comdey Central. They are to Portland as John Mellencamp is to Indianapolis or Bon Jovi is to New Jersey.

Could the media get away with misleading voters of another event where Obama wasn't the featured act, but more like the stand-up comic as the opening act? They sure did try and as of now have succeeded.

Obama's recent European tour was centered around his speech in Berlin. While the New York Times and the rest of his media allies claimed that he "drew a crowd of more than 200,000," It turns out that the people didn't come to see him.

I'm sure you'll recall that great photo of Obama appearing small in front of an endless sea of his European faithful. Obama appeared larger than life (David Axelrod campaign stunt) in front of the cheering German youth. However the people didn't come to see Obama, they were waiting for the German Reggae singer Patrice and the band Reamonn. That's right the media Messiah was a mere opening act, performing for an audience who wanted to hear music, not be part of a political stunt orchestrated by an American politician and his campaign manager.

While there is no doubt that Europeans prefer Obama over McCain, which is a good reason not to vote for Obama, this idea that he is viewed as a modern day Elvis is nothing but media hype. Sure he has his fans and the young kids love him. However the young voters also loved Howard Dean in 2004.

I can only pray that the majority of Americans can see past the media and hollywood creation that is Barack Obama. No ideas and no substance is who Obama is. The ideas he does have are very European, which is why they like him. Unfortunately for America the Europeans ideas I'm referring too are Socialism and Appeasement.

Palestinians ask Israel to save their lives
Hamas gunning for fellow countrymen

It would of been an interesting sight to see. Nearly 200 Palestinians fearing for their lives from Hamas, ran to safety seeking help from the Israeli Defense Forces. That's right. Palestinians fearing they will be murdered by their Arab brothers seek held and protection from Jews.

As Hamas began cracking down on their political rival Fatah last Saturday, 180 men including members the Hilles Clan fled to Israel, were an IDF military operation took place under enemy fire to save the fleeing Palestinians. That evening many people seeking the destruction of the Jewish State were receiving protection and medical treatment from those they hope to one day murder.

At the request of worthless PA President Mahmoud Abbas, the men were returned to the Palestinian territory on Sunday. Upon returning many of the individuals were arrested by Hamas. At first Abbas was going to grant the majority of his Fatah brothers passage to the West Bank, but change his mind only permitting five Fatah members safe passage.

It's amazing with stories such as this one that any rational person could believe that Hamas has an ounce of human decency and that the Israel/Arab conflict is equal in fault. If you ever had a situation in which Jews were running for their lives and needed help from Palestinians or any Muslim/Arab country, the nation they would be running too would undoubtedly welcome the people in need with gun fire. Women and children too.

It's our value of human life that makes us better than them.

Olmert plans to resign next month
Israel's national nightmare may soon end

I'll never forget the newspaper headlines in May of 1999 when Ehud Barak defeated Benjamin Netanyahu to become Prime Minister of Israel. "Israelis Vote for Peace," or similar words captured the front page of Newspapers all over the world. The insinuation at the time was that Israel demonstrated a desire for peace because they voted Netanyahu out of office. It was at this moment in time that I realized that anything short of committing suicide would be deemed as pro-war behavior by Israel in the eyes of the world.

Nearly ten years later similar headlines currently engulf newspapers and Internet news sites as PM Ehud Olmert announced he plans to resign next month. This time the media concern is that the peace process with the Palestinians and Syrians is in trouble because Olmert may be replaced by a so-called "Hawk," possibly Netanyahu.

Let me clue the media and the rest of the world in on an undeniable truth. Olmert wasn't going to make peace with anybody. He was going to agree to further suicide pacts. More concessions for more violence. Trade terrorists including baby-killers for dead soldiers, making it less attractive for Hamas and Hezbollah to keep prisoners alive and more attractive to kidnap and kill more Jews.

Olmert in many ways is the Jimmy Carter of Israel. Incompetent, weak and arrogant. As the Soviet Union walked all over Carter, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Palestinian Authority did the same to Olmert.

Paulies Point prays that when Israeli's go to the polls next time they will vote to survive and elect a leader who will send the message to the world that once again, "never again is now!"

If the Jewish State selects Netanyahu or another perceived Hawk, it will be the will of God.
Media outlets can print, "Israel votes for war" all they want. Maybe in a way they will be right.

The PA, Hamas, Hezbollah, Lebanon, Syria, Iran and most Arabs only want a two-state solution if it means an Israel with no Jews. Israel has begged for peace for sixty-years and the end result has been pain, suffering and more dead Jews. Enough is enough.

The ball has never been in Israel's court. The Jewish State sits there waiting for those who seek her destruction to put down their arms and join them in mutual respect and recognition. However while we wait we will defend ourselves and if it comes down to them or us, the Jewish people will prevail.

Obama the Socialist and Race-baiter
How anyone can vote for this clown is a mystery

It's a code term used by Obama to get his message across while attempting to hide the truth from his critics and the American people. "Economic Justice" is the phrase Obama has been using on campaign stops when addressing crowds that appreciate Socialist ideals. During his speech to the NAACP, the Illinois Senator used the term four times. He never went into details about what he meant by the phrase, but he didn't have too as the Investors Business Daily recently reported in their series, The Audacity of Socialism.

Listen to Obama's words when he addressed crowds in Europe. The Democratic hopeful appeals to Europeans because he shares their beliefs. "Europe's strategy of enlargement, which has been history's most successful democratization strategy and has brought peace, stability and prosperity to millions," Obama said.

However as Soeren Kern wrote in the American Thinker, "any honest observer of contemporary European politics will acknowledge, the European Union is not a democratic project, as the ratification process of the Lisbon Treaty proves. Moreover, the United States, not Europe, is responsible for the peace, stability and prosperity that millions of Europeans have taken for granted since the end of World War II."

Obama and many Democrats dream of an America that is more like Europe. Instead of being a world or economic power, they prefer we fall into the "just like everyone else category." Economic Justice is what most European economies are about. It's a form of wealth redistribution, making the majority of the citizens terribly dependent on the state instead of themselves or their own abilities.

It's disturbing enough that Obama believes in failed Marxist ideas, but adding to his nanny state thinking is his use of the race-card. Obama is accusing the McCain campaign for tactics that they supposedly will be using in the future. In other words, Obama is calling the GOP candidate a racist because he hasn't done something, but may in the future.

"What they're going to try to do is make you scared of me," Obama said. "You know, he's not patriotic enough, he's got a funny name, you know, he doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills," Obama told a Missouri crowd.

Wake up America! Wake up for the sake of our children! Wake up for the sake of our security and traditions we hold so dearly. Wake up for the sake of freedom and everything that has made us the greatest nation in the world.

I don't want to be France or Germany. I want to be America!
